I really do think we should push the boat out for him and bid £10million. He cant get a game at man city and im sure he wants to be playing, on his day he is absolute quality and imo he was young player of the year. Davesviews has mentioned players at man city, i wonder if Ireland is one of them? I hope so as he is just what we need

No fucking chance. He's more of an attacking midfielder so the talks would go something like ... TP - "What do you think you can bring to the team Steven?" SI - "Well I'm a box to box sort of midfielder, and I work hard" TP - (Spits a bit of jizz into his trackie bottoms) "Ohh really ... Sounds like you're just the kind of fellow we're looking for here at Stoke, you would fit right in" SI - "yes boss and I crack in a few goals too. I love getting in and around the oppositions penalty area, I like to see the whites of the goalies eyes" TP - "Oh ... errmm ... Well we've got a lot of players to look at Steven so we'll call you .... ok" SI - "Okay boss" TP - (as SI leaves the Brit) "Pheww fuck me. Nearly made a BIG mistake there"

Would have been my first choice, but I don't think City will let him go unfortunately. Would actually prefer Ireland to Parker!

To be fair mate if you don't think we could get him then what's the point in bidding for him. For the record, i agree with you though, crackin' little player but out of our reach i think.

This would be my dream signing - but he would never come to Stoke. We can't even offer him the carrot of "regular starts for a World Cup trip" that other players might be interested in.....

Even if they were interested to sell him though i think it could well take more than 10 mill and pretty sure that there would be some stiff competition. Nice thought but a couple of seasons too soon for us i think for a young lad coming into his prime.

Why would he join little Stoke??? to play football, i dont know if you noticed but stoke are a club on the up and if we are going to push on these are the sort of players you have to have a look at, no harm in bidding

SCFC will never win with some fans. We're either not pushing on enough (ie. Whitehead, Collins) or we're pushing for players out of reach (Carton Cole, Ruud, Ireland) however he'd be class. Just can't see Man city letting him go.

He's been out injured, he'll get back in almost instantly when fully fit. Plus the other poster is right Pulis would either destroy him with his cage or simply refuse to play him, if he played his game. When will the penny drop on here that the system is the problem, some players simply can't play that way, the ones who can have to accept its going to make them look completely ineffective.

No not really, would prefer not being strung along with talk of adding quality and evolving our style of play. I would prefer Pulis to come out and say, this is what I believe in, I will never change and if you think its shit find something else to do on a Saturday afternoon. Because even though I don't believe a word of it I just keep hanging on to all this and the three years in this league crap. He will never change will he ?

I've no doubt as much as I dislike the way he sets about the game I'll give him three years and many more on top of that, I was Stoke before he came and I'll still be Stoke when he's gone, won't stop me expressing how much I hate the way we play in the mean time. I'm a huge Tuncay (most talented player at Stoke for a good few years) fan by the way but we're hardly playing to his strengths are we.

i agree with that to a point.
i'd prefer us to play tuncay in the whole with fuller ahead of him but at the moment i don't think we have midfield to play Tuncay like that. which is why we need a good quality passing centre mid. and Pulis has said that so i'd prefer to wait and see if he backs up his claims of knowing what we need before i judge whether or not he will change.

Youve got to speculate to accumulate. If we didnt go in for him fans would moan, if we do people would say we need to be looking at more realistic targets.
Personally i think he's the dogs bollocks
