And if he retires with Stoke as a top 10 club...how will his legacy be regarded...
...my bet would be that "he took us as far as he could" would be what most fans say...
...I would say he is a fucking God!!!!

TP really is starting to obsess about his legacy isn't he ?
It feels like he is mentally writing his autobiography already "...arrived in Stoke-on-Trent, a proper town and football city with real people just like him, but the football team matched the city in being down on it's luck, formed a relationship with a local business man made good, took the team into Premier League dreamland, kept it there for 3 years such that it could truly be considered a Premier League team, at the same time (and most importantly of all) grew a new generation of Stoke City supporters"
I think this explains his supreme stubbornness, he simply won't do a single thing he feels may compromise this dream and his ultimate legacy.
For all the moaners carping about the aesthetics of some of our play we'll look upon these few years as halcyon days when TP has gone.
We'll never see his like again.

For all that he frustrates the hell out of me sometimes with his tactics and the way he plays the game, I think you are bang on the money

Would certainly seem to indicate that he sees Stoke as his last job in football... perhaps he knows deep down it's not just his wife that wouldn't have him. ;D
