I know it has been said before but I make no apologies for reiterating it. Those supporters that have been around for the last 2 years are probably the ones moaning most - because it is these people that have not suffered years of " going nowhere ". They have jumped on the Premier League bandwagon and expect miracles.
Those who have been loyal for a long time in the main understand how far we have come and appreciate the wonders Mr Pulis has worked.
Seriously people have got to get a grip - we drew at home to Liverpool in the Premier League. I suppose it is the price of success.
And heaven forbid just if we did go down - they would all dissapear again and we would be left with 16 k plus attendances - but at least a loyal bunch.
Get a Grip

Biggest myth in football that our 16k loyal fans always got behind the team.

Nope no medal required - you provoked my response with the " new poster " comment as if to suggest I was a " new supporter ". I dont get on here much admitedly. You obviously do.
You know I am right. Yes I agree the 16k lot were a fickle bunch too like all supporters - but this current lot simply do not appreciate how well we have done.

Of course they appreciate how well we've done.
They also appreciate that Liverpool are a shambles and were there for the taking. And we didn't. It doesn't matter that it was Liverpool. The team we played was a distinctly average team.

No I said new poster not new supporter, I was 1 of the 16,000 for about 2/3 of the games and the odd away game and yes I do agree that the newer fan base are even more fickle ! But I dread to think of returning to a half full stadium with 200/300 away fans stuck at the back of the south stand

Yeh good post . Liverpool are poor by their standards but they are not a poor side by ours. They played some good football at times better than what we can play. They have better footballers than us and have spent alot more money. They will still probably finish in the top 4 I think.
Yes they lost to Reading and again by their standards that is appalling.
They are 7th - higher than us therefore doing better than us.
For Liverpool they are poor however today was still a great result. Well done lads you showed good character

It was a good result in the end but I along with most other didn't have us down as favourites just for the fun of it.

Of the starting XI's what would everyones joint team be?
Reina
Wilko Shawcross Huth Aurelio
Lawrence Mascherano Whitehead Ethers
Tuncay Kuyt
I don't like Carragher so that is a dubious one and I can see that but I don't think he's a better right back then Wilko.
And then Lucas who I think is turd and I would be off on one if we were to sign him.
Oh and Lawrence on the right, it was either that or N'Gog up front with Kuyt on the wing. ;D

Why is it always 'spectator' graded posters who put this sort of 'we should be grateful - remember where we came from" type of thread?
I will always appreciate what the management and team have achieved thus far. My difficulty is that I would rather we stay in the top flight. Call me a spoilt brat but I quite like it here and when I see players like mama getting the nod over fuller I spit my dummy out and throw my toys out of the pram as is my right by being a spoilt brat.
After watching Stoke for 45 years plus I reserve the right to wail like a spoilt brat whenever I please.

Think you might be wrong there. All the true supporters of Stoke City must appreciate what Pulis has done to get us back in the Premier League. However, there would appear to be one group of supporters who just because of this will not hear a word said against the manager AND another group of supporters who are not content with being a struggling unambitious side playing Championship hoofball to a centre forward who would struggle to get in a League 1 side under any manager other than Pulis. If you take off your rose tinted glasses you will see that his tactics have not changed in all the years that he has been here. We are now in the Premier League and it is about time the manager adjusted his style of play to suit the league that we now play in. I know that changes do not happen overnight but Pulis does nothing to suggest that he will ever change and become the ambitious forward thinking manager we would all like him to become. I do not want to get rid of Pulis I just want him to develop and take us up to that next stage. If he is unable to do this then ultimately he will have to go. Cheers Adie
