That's crazy. Let's hope they're okay. SSN saying that there's several players and the driver in a bad way.

Too many nutters in the world with a 'cause'.
Another reason to worry about the World Cup being in the most violent country on the planet.
Hope everyone is OK.

Sad to say that South Africa has that particularly worrying title. Like many others, this sort of cowardly attack leaves me feeling angry.

ADFaye25 - beat me to it. It is now without a doubt a World Cup too soon for Ryan. Awful news though - would like to think that the Bus Driver's family will be looked after by player donations from all teams.

Not sure Billy, just thought that some of the most prolific and talented athletes in the world will be convening in and around that area making it slightly high profile when there are rebels desperately fighting for independence and any attention to their cause...I may be a mile off though

This is Africa.
It's just a month since we saw a bus with players stoned in the WC qualifying, with blood running from their head. If people have a gun, they use that instead of stones.

Reports on SSN say 1 player was shot in the back and another in his kidney .... there is talk that the players wanna come home and also talk of boycotting the tornament or maybe cancelling it all together.
