OK, it is pretty annoying not having a match to go to tomorrow, but look at it this way: 1. Tuncay has an extra week to recover (he was touch and go for Saturday) 2. We have more time to get a new face(s) in for extra games. 3. We don't have to contend with new manager syndrome (yes, it's only a temporary appointment but it still often works) 4. Nobody falls over and kills themselves. Replay prediction. Burnley 0-1 Stoke City

With you there James ...
I'm not sure the advantages don't outweigh Burnley playing without a manager - I'm sure I've read somewhere that they've done alright when Davies has stood in before, if that's true or not I'm not sure.

dont agree about the new manager syndrome point
had we played them tomorrow they may have been on a downer after losing an influential character in owen coyle

Tuncay is the only + point for me.... but its a bloody huge + point as this is one away game we really can win BUT i feel we need him to tear a fragile Burnley defence to pieces.

Wankers. It's my brother's birthday tomorrow and the Burnley game was an integral part of the day. Completely fucked that up now, tin pot club.
If they were bang in form and Coyle was still there they would manage to get this game on, I have no doubt about that.

Just imagine, top 10m striker hand on pen Stoke in the top ten, then we lose to Burnley and a few teams below us win, putting us right back in the mix, player backs off... with the game off like James says we have an extra week to get a couple in, which will help the next couple etc..
Maybe a bit simplistic but you get the point...

gives tuncay chance to be 100% fit with no chance of him damaging it again, sooner have him fit for liverpool than burnley.

New manager syndrome normally only applies when the previous incumbent was shit - which is not the case here.
Lets face it, Stoke were going into this game on the up, Burnley never wanted to play it since Coyle fucked off. The odds were definitely in our favour.
Gutted.

Would of travelled from Suffolk for this - so personally ok with t being postponed as it is a nightmare round here
On a SCFC angle - yes it is a shame BUT I agree with Knowles re the positives
- Full on Tuncay again - 2 or 3 new signings - a rampant Woody
Dont care what they do, we will be more than ready for them

Statistically, overall clubs have done WORSE in the first game after a manager has departed during the playing season than they would have done had he still been in place.
'New manager syndrome' is just another myth I'm afraid.

In a way it's a pity that it's been called off as that jug eared twat Lineker would have had to show more of us on MOTD with so few matches being played. Then again, the wanker would have probably allowed the gobshites to have droned on about the other game/games and still left us with a couple of kicks and a snigger or two.
Cretinous jug eared twaaaaat.

pity its off they could well have a new manager in place when we do play them and that usually works against us

I would still rather have played them right after the fallout of their manager leaving. I think Coyle was the most influential thing at Burnley, I can see his decision to leave having a major backlash on their form.

I doubt that Burnley would have tried TOO hard to get this game on.
Just shows what a GREAT job SCFC did in getting Tuesday's match on...and a deserved 3 points to boot. It was worth the dodgy journey up from Leicester for this one.
Have to say I wasn't looking forward to driving up to Burnley tomorrow...but that wouldn't have stopped me.
