I reckon the new decade starts on 1 January 2011. Because there was no year 0 (zero) then January 2010 is the START of the tenth year of a decade.

I reckon the new decade starts on 1 January 2011. Because there was no year 0 (zero) then January 2010 is the START of the tenth year of a decade. The more erudite amongst us are aware of this Forny, but you'll never convince the plebs. ;D

A decade is simply a ten year period and can start from any point. So whilst he may have scored the first goal of a decade, you could argue that every goal ever scored has been the start of one as well, and somehow, the status of the accolade is somewhat diminished. ;D

Another piece of history..:
Sidibe scores his first goal in a year.(His next his due this time next year).
In total he has scored 47 goals...lethal.
He was the 'sub' that was subbed after 10 mins whilst playing for the national side.!
