I'm fairly confident Simmo could do a job in the Prem to be honest. We could always bring someone like Foster in on loan too.

So, if yu were a professional footballer and someone asked you whether you fancied playing Champions League football before you retired, then what would you say?
Tommy hasn't done anything wrong here.

It has been suggested that Smithies will be signed and loaned back to Huddersfield. Surely if this is true (Smithies and Tommy leaving) it would suggest that any potential deal, re Tommy, would not happen this window.

He won't move unless he is guaranteed first team football (World Cup n'all that). Tommy is ours, don't worry. I'm finding this reassuring knowles. I'd be planning for him to be gone in the summer though.

Would be guttd if he left but if we got £3m+ for him and then got Foster in for a similar amount it wouldn't be too bad.
I know Foster hasn't been great but he's never had a consistent run out and when he was at Watford and making a save every other minute he looked very good.
Tommy has been excellent though and we owe him for his performances last year!

I'm not sure Sorro has commanded his area that well this season bearing in mind the number of goals we've conceded from set pieces. Like a number of players, Sorro hasn't quite been as good this season as he was last season.

I agree above at his age if he has the chance to go to a top European side then who could blame him? He is a real good keeper but plenty to be had and not a position we'd struggle to fill. Don't for one second personall think Simonsen is anywhere near good enough though. Cuducini, James.....................either would suit me

Last season Soro commanded excellently last season and there seemed to be a strong connection between him, Abdy and Ryan. Although not as much this season , he's still doing a top job (excluding getting caught with your pants down from the half way line ;D).

The title of the original post does'nt match the contents of the quotes posted in this thread. Tommy says himself that he's happy but if an offer came in it would be hard to refuse. Whats wrong with that? Would'nt we all do the same? Yes, his career was on the wane when the call came from our manager, but did Simmo deserve to be dropped so soon after promotion without having the chance to put a foot wrong in the Premier League? We can't have it both ways and that is pretty much life i'm afraid. At his age, the chance to play in the Champions League is, and should be, too good to turn down. Decent Stokies will, rightly, wish him well on his way. Until then, relax! ;D Thanks Acton for applying a bit of not-so-common sense. We got Tommy on a free, have had some great service from him and could now get a substantial transfer fee. Or he could even stay! Either way, another great bit of business by Tone.

Could just be me, but I read this on the positive note that he actually turned them down to stay where he is, surely thats a massive bonus. If it is the first team football issue then so be it, does it really matter? Try not to read so much into things, some on here sound like some paranoid skirt worried their bum looks too big! Calm down and enjoy the ride.....

Rescued from Aston Villa's reserves and now thinks he is too good for Stoke City.
Good keeper but not as good as some (including himself) think.

"IF" he went how much do we think we'd get? Bang in form all season after a very good previous season. Could be 5 or 6 million i'd have thought. 33 isn't that old for a keeper afterall.

Why is everyone so keen on Foster? I'm not. I think we saw Man U coming. All the fuss on here when we sold him- I doubt many of those had seen him play. We can replace Sorensen although I do like him.

"It wasn't long ago and it was an unofficial enquiry." Sorensen told spn.dk.
"It was from one of the biggest clubs (in Europe), but it was not what I am looking for at the moment."Isn't there a strong possibility that he is just reffering to the approach from Bayern in the summer (that we all knew about anyway) or have I completely got the wrong end of the stick?
