No- it isn't good. However these can be issued and withdrawn quite easily.
If you were a supplier to Portsmouth and they hadn't paid a bill for £500, you could get such an order.
However, the banks always get first dibs at the cash and everyone else has to wait in a queue. So the small supplier probably wouldn't get much.
I would say that if the banks have started this- then they are in real trouble.

its apparently hm revenue and customs who have issued it so its pay up the tax bill now or go into administration.

That really is worse than the banks- oh dear me.
Anyone worth giving some cash for?

Bad for us as well because we would lose 3 valuable points and one of the candidates for the drop.

It will be Her Majesty who has started this petition for non-payment of money to the taxman. This is the usual precursor for any club that has gone into admin.
I am trying to find out about these supposed new owners of WHam.

On Sky news now as reported
A winding up order freezes their assetts, administration could follow unless they pay, winding up actually happens if and when their position financially is no longer viable!!

I don't think there is much chance of them going out of business like Maidstone did. They could well go into administration and I presume a points deduction.
What I'm wondering is, what are the rules regarding a points deduction in the Prem, as I don't think it has happened before and I know there are differing penalties than in the Football League.

How the 'mighty' have fallen...
Would rather they didn't go out of business though, in fact would like it if they didn't even go into admin, think they're pretty much nailed on to go down anyway and their fans don't deserve to have yet more insult added to injury.

its more likely that this is just a threat to get their taxes paid, but lets be honest its not likley to be a misunderstanding now is it with all their players not getting paid over recent weeks and lens threatening to sue over unpaid transfer fees.

Sorry for repeating my earlier question, but what are the punishments in the Prem for administration. I suspect they are not the same as in the Football League.

Sad for Pompey fans, sad for football, and frightening. Just shows what could have happened to us if PC hadn't stepped in.

Sorry for repeating my earlier question, but what are the punishments in the Prem for administration. I suspect they are not the same as in the Football League. I'm not sure it's ever happened in the premier league! All the money thrown at clubs in the prem usually keeps them well in order. Going from owner to owner they seem to take the cash with them each time it's sold and leave it to the next person to put some cash in. I would imagine this will blow over pretty quickly if it's only one months tax bill as reported so I reckon it won't get that far.

Last year, I'm sure I heard the Prem League would consider giving money to a club to avoid administration and consequently protect the image of the Prem.

They're still a decent team really - it's just off the pitch fucking everything up for them.
EDIT: But christ, we should beat them.

I love it how everyone on this site blows everything out of proportion - some of you r worse than the missus. If it's just one months tax bill all they have to do is pay it and the order gets ripped up, shouldnt be a problem for them. Then that will be that
