F***k Me just seen it on MOTD defo a penalty carr was trying rip is shirt off yet again a poor referee decided he didnt see it ,but what i found concerning is how may stoke players actually got in the refs face about it and appealled there was only huth who made it known, our players have to look up at the whingers from chelsea like john terry ffs stoke get some pressure on the ref and get in his face it works wonders for them.

Nah get up and get on with it, the ref aint gonna change his mind. No need for needless bookings!

Sadly (and it breaks my heart to admit it) but we are going to have to get a bit more clued up.
On numerous ocassions, the Blues players made a meal of nowt and got the decision, we get fouled and that twat of a referee gave us nothing.
It's a sad fact but we need to start playing "the game" a bit where officials are concerned.

I hear what your saying but i'd rather win a game honestly and be able to call my team honest and not a team full of whingers.
Stone wall penalty though it has to be said. I honestly do think the standard of refereeing has been declining for a few years now

I'm glad we dont act like the pricks that Birmingham had, getting in the refs face, it's not going to make a difference.
I find it hard to believe that no two linesmen nor a ref saw it.

Agreed, this was the same as the disallowed goal vs Villa, our lot were just giving the ref a paddington stare and that was it.

The sad thing is mate, is that is DOES make a difference. What do you think the Blues players were chirping in the ref's ear all game? They were chipping away, telling him how big and nasty we are, how we keep fouling them and sure enough at every set piece that wank stain of a ref was looking only at players wearing red and white and searching for possible infringements he could blow up for. We need to wise up, even though we shouldn't have to.

We need to wise up, even though we shouldn't have to. I'm afraid that is the case, otherwise you get a situation where the likes of Lee Bowyer are refereeing the game for you. I thought Whitehead would have been this sort of on pitch influence, being Captain at Sunderland and all that but sadly not. Playing the cards you are dealt with and getting on with it is all very laudable but it butters fuck all parsnips and referees patently give you no credit for it.

When opposing players are cheats, and when refs fall for their antics, we have to start pissing in the same pot, otherwise we are going to get nothing out of our games. It's becoming clear that honsty is NOT the best policy!

After reading your comments it would be a good thing if we changed our captain does faye say enough on the pitch we need somebody whos going to give the ref a roasting and a leader he seems very quiet out there with his mouth

If we could get a proper left back in, I would pair Ryan and Higgy at centre back giving the latter the armband. It won't happen but that's what I would consider.

The problem with this is a lack of consistency. The problem with this lack of consistency is that it seems to be us who is on the wrong end of everything.
What irritates me even more are the little decisions the referees throw against us; the free-kicks that should be ours, but he inexplicably gives the other way, throw-ins right next to the linesmen that get given the other way, horror tackles that go unpunished
...and of course the ridiculous decision to give Shawcross a yellow card yesterday for being wrestled to the ground.

What about that throw in they gave to Birmingham when their player clearly booted it out of play after one of our attacks?

huth can't say fuck all, for all his talent he has a real dark side and is a liability at the back. gives away too many needless fouls and one of these days he's gonna get caught dragging one1 down and losing us a penalty

Nick, as much as I agree (how many times in the last 4-5 games has Huth given/nearly given away a penalty), the balance is starting to tip and its now taking the piss.
Opposition might think we're just moaning for one game, but its been going on for too long that we're having shambolic ref's and its costing us big.

The problem of doing it is even more yellow cards, and I think we would get quite a few of them this way. We're not exactly the ref's best friends, are we?

What is a crying shame is that a team like us, who have set out in every single game to play the game the right way, are now having to consider conforming with the other Premiership cheats. I don't want to see my players falling over like that androgynous player The Shit sold in the summer, nor do I want to see them become like the repulsive John Terry. The fact is though, playing the game properly has not benefited us, but cost us. We are labelled as a dirty team and receive ridiculous decisions because we're big nasty Stoke. It says a lot about the modern game, where cheating is encouraged so long as you can do a stepover and where you must hound the referee if he gives anything against you (thanks for your contribution to the world football, Man Utd).
I still don't want us to succumb to cheating.

I think reffing standard at the moment is piss poor and we are definitely getting short end of stick, but i think it will probably even itself out over the season

I think reffing standard at the moment is piss poor and we are definitely getting short end of stick, but i think it will probably even itself out over the season Well if it's going to even it's self out then we're going to walk the rest of the season with all the decisions going our way then. It's a fallacy that these things even themselves up over the season. Do you really think that Man U, Chelsea etc. will get balanced decisions over the season? Really? If they end up in the positive over the season then there has to be some losers doesn't there? I think the best example of our approach costing us was last season at 'Boro. Amdy Faye did that lunging tackle, the 'Boro player wrathed around on the floor and his team mates surrounded the ref. Result: a red card. Second half, Kitson was scythed down from behind, studs up (I think by O'neil). Kitson jumps to his feet and no Stoke players approach the ref. Result: a yellow card.

What about that throw in they gave to Birmingham when their player clearly booted it out of play after one of our attacks? The best(WORST) decision I saw yesterday was the one where Hart saved from Etherington which everybody has being saying what a fantastic save it was wnt out for a throw and it was awarded to them.
