Watching Football 1st coverage on the 1st half and Trevor Francis is commenting on how well we are playing and has just said that if Birmingham can escape with a point, they will have had an excellent christmas.
Comments made about our solid backline and how well our two central midfielders were pressing the game UP the pitch.
We could be 4 or 5 up with a bit of luck (2 x Ryan chances, Huth miskick which I didn't realise was such a good chance, Beattie's header, Tunny's chance blocked). The problem? Hart hasn't had to make a save!
This is exactly how I saw the game myself. I suspect the second half will see us fall behind to a scrappy, fluke goal, then force Hart into 2 fantastic saves. We will be denied a blatant penalty before running out of ideas, whacking it long and introducing 3 ineffective subs.
Just one of those days...just like Spurs defeat to a certain Stoke side earlier in the season.
If we play like that for the rest of the season, we will win more games than we lose, providing of course we start hitting the target a little more often.

Spot on. Although I think Brum deserve credit for the way they broke the game up (with the ref's help, mind) after they scored. Reminded me of us last season. Jammy bastards though.

Indeed...very much like us last season.
Watching this coverage (I think we are at 75 minutes now), we have absolutely battered them. They have scored and had 2 breakaways.
It is around about now that we seem to lose our way though.

As we all know, Trevor Francis is Birmingham City through and through and he seems to be speaking very highly of us on this commentary, acknowledging that as well as Birmingham have defended, we deserved the draw at least.
We have battered them on this coverage...the ref has lost the plot...and the introduction of the subs saw our game fall apart somewhat.
This coverage is exactly how I saw the game today. Rory and Whitehead were excellent as well so I wonder how some of those earlier posters would react to seeing the game on the telly?

Rory and Whitehead were excellent I very nearly did thick love wee when I saw the team for today. Just about my ideal line up. (Huth in CD for Abdy and Wilko @ RB, Kitson in for Beats seeing as you ask ) Not watched it yet, but from the south stand, and my facebook status on my way back to the car was, I quote: " Me is almost speechless. We've battered them, joe harte's made two blinding saves, and we've lost 1-0. A striker for january please or pulis." I say again, jammy bastards.

I bet MOTD just show the goal, and bum Birminham's 11 game run.

I don't even watch MOTD these days.
A programme produced only to propagate the myth that this very average premiership, full of cheats and mercenaries, is the best league in the world.

I haven't got football first but came away from the game reflecting on the same game as you. Whitehead was very good today bar getting caught in possession in a bad position once. Beattie had his best game since last year. Lawrence tried a bit too hard, like he can. Higgy showed why his distribution is less of a problem at centre back, but generally we were entertaining and battered them. We were unlucky but they looked like a team unbeaten in 10 and earned their luck too. We need a change of luck more than a change of tactics or personnel.

At least Trev's comments are even handed, I was listening to Pat Murphy's disgraceful comments on the game before and after, how the BBC employ him and send him to report on B'ham City games when he is clearly a fan of their's is beyond me. He sent pre and post match slagging off Delap's throws and was building up Birmingham into something they quite clearly are not, and even said that Jerome had a chance at the end to kill the game off, which he absolutely did not, fcuking ell I was angry at that.

I generally agree with all that has been said on this thread BUT if we are not winning games where we've battered the opposition then sooner or later there will be one major loss of confidence leading to regular losses and relegation. Whoever plays, someone, somewhere has got to get that fucking ball in the net when it matters otherwise we're fucked. Hopefully, Fulham will feel the wrath and our frustration.

Well, I DID just watch us on MOTD and it was a lot of old shite. 1st half quite even, then all brum, then goal, then stoke chances, then penalty claim, which they did at least grudgingly concede was a stonewaller. Amazed we weren't on last though. Ach, fuck it.

Heads dropped a bit today as they withstood our pressure but Pulis can lift them for next Tuesday night. Some team is gonna get a tonking at some point. We will win by 3 before the season ends.
