Some people may not agree, but we ARE a better side than last season, and with that comes greater expectation. We've seen in recent games that the atmosphere is getting worse at the Brit, against Wigan, where was the roar that spurred us on to win at home to Man Citeh and Arsenal last season? Where were the ear-splitting Delilahs? Do we need to be told we're shit and going down to get us singing? I hope to god we really get singin' against Brum otherwise we'll soon lose our awesome reputation and spirit amongst the fans, and we'll become just another middle of the road club like Bolton or Blackburn.

Gooarn Stoke Feel the same m8. This season we have not been anywhere near our best - and as you point out, the Wigan atmosphere was as flat as a pancake!! I don't believe that we are playing with the same energy, passion and tempo that we have come to expect from the past 2/3 seasons. We are poorer for that imo, irrelevant of the better personnel we now have and hopefully will have in the future - we as fans, players and club need to be up and at em every game - whether it's the likes of Wigan, Burnley that we are playing or Man Utd, Liverpool etc... I sit in the Seddon and the atmosphere was electric at times last season, however the same mad bastards that were foaming at the mouth and intimidating the opposition seem to have lost their mojo!! I still shout, sing and generally act like a loon for the 90 mins but aren't backed-up by a lot of the people around me - instead they are either moaning or having a chat about what was on T-V last night, sitting on their hands or asking if anyone wants a f****ng boiled sweet ??? 'WE ARE THE PEOPLE' don't forget this. Nobody else could give a flying fcuk about us - I support Stoke City with all my heart and carry on the tradition passed down to me from close family members who have passed away ( I really do feel a connection to them when I'm at the game and am representing them too) Don't get me wrong, we have been playing really flat this season and it is frustrating, but if we don't raise the energy levels in the stands and on the pitch - then what is the point! Stoke fans to me are like family in evey sense, from the bond we share to the in-fighting and bickering that happens in every household - and like family you get dissapointed, peed off and angered but it's still in your blood and you still love em'

Today was garbage tbf To the point 95% of the crowd sat down in the upper tier. I know there wasnt much to cheer about, but it was Boxing day, a day that we should of enjoyed, had a good laugh and sung our hearts out.

performances on the pitch will get the fans shouting again, nothing more. the players have the role to play ,not us, and don't think its any other way. i sky plussed the wigan game and watched it later that night, and there was a point where we, the crowd, were getting very vociferous. pulis shouted to whitehead, not to get sucked in to what was going on with the crowd he then always before a game says we have to get behind them, well we do, we would just like to see it reciprocated by the players, by putting in performances that produce results.

Totally agree mate...Its not just us that need to pull our socks up by getting behind the lads but they need to start producing play and goals to get us going..They are paid alot of money to entertain us and they aint doing it for me...

I think what you say is correct but to my mind, fans should be fanatical - whether we are a bag of shite or playing stuff Madrid would be proud of - as supporters we need to be roaring our knackers of and give everyone a kick up the arse!!

Good point but I can't believe how so many supporters can become so downhearted so quickly - 2nd season in the Prem and been on an upwards curve since TP came back.

I don't think you should critcise people who pay a good perecntage of their wages to watch Stoke because they don't sing. I know people who go to the football and sing their hearts out; others who spend all their time "kicking each ball" and others who don't sing or shout. They all support their team.

Not saying they don't support their team but, the people who sit around me are the very same who were vocal last year but not this?! I find it all bewildering - even if we have nothing to shout about - last season that wouldn't have mattered yet this year it does ???

It would help if Pulis picked the strongest/best team. He starts with better players on the bench, then the supporters get agitated when things aren't going well. He should be fielding the strongest team, regardless of any off the field tiffs. We may then get a performance that we can get excited about.
