surely is that: WE ARE VERY RARELY PICKING THE RIGHT TEAM.
Surely both PHW and Rimmers can see that? If folk seriously think that Lawrence shouldn't be in our starting eleven then I fear for their eyesight and/or metal health.
Same goes with Sidibe. I don't care if Beattie circumscised the gaffrer in the Emirates showers or if Ricardo is the laziest man on planet earth, both are ALWAYS better options than Sidibe. ALWAYS.
But the most important man at our club, the gaffer, can't see that.
That's what worries me. Not is Whitehead or Collins good enough, or is Abdoulaye having a poor run. It's this obsession of the manager in NOT picking our best team. Good teams can't afford not to put their best eleven on the pitch, so f*** knows how we can afford not to.
Beggars belief and we now are into the realms of must-win home games. Ffs, sort it Tone, now!

Its seriously worrying when a so called professional can't see it or to stubborn to see it but then spouts out on the radio that he wants us to be winning games and only lives for results for this football club blah blah bollox! yeh right so picking a cack handed side playing dire shit football is wanting a team to go out and win what a lying two faced bastard!!!

I agree 100% Sidibe should not even be on the bench never mind the starting line up .Birmingham is now a must win game, and 1 or 2 good players coming in January.

Agree, we are carrying 3 players a game at times, that's shocking at this level.
We only looked like getting out of 1st gear once all the subs were on, which is daft as Tunch and ethers were playing there own game of SCFC football in the first half and it was dissapointing to see Tunch go off and one of Whitehead/Whelan/Diao to stay on.

If Liam has done something that Pulis disagrees with or any other player,we ALL know Pulis holds grudges and by not picking these players is costing us points then he should resign before he takes us back down.he has spent another 15 million and managed to make us worse....

Some how he has improved the squad but weakened the first eleven. Tuncay excepted our Summer business was mediocre.

We were saying exactly the same last season. It took him until the end of January to settle on his best XI

ok, so why does he not get it right NOW?
The best midfield that ended last season is our best midfield now - Ethers- Delap - Whelan - Lenny. Why change that?

We were saying exactly the same last season. It took him until the end of January to settle on his best XI So every season we have to wait until January before his best side is sorted? Not exactly team building is it? More like fire fighting. He needs another cracking January in the transfer market or we will go down. We can't score a goal ffs. 15 in 18 games tells you all you need to know.

yup, if we don't sign a good or better central midfielder in January I am very, very worried.

yup, if we don't sign a good or better central midfielder in January I am very, very worried. A new midfielder would be great, but I honestly think we already have the players here to comfortably finish mid-table. (and so we should considering our outlay). There's only one man who can jeopardise that, and he's doing a bloody good job of it at the moment.

I sent a text from Newcastle at half time last year which read " no Fuller, no hope". I sent it again from Villa Park too. On both occasions Fuller came on and rescued draws. It is not possible for any player in world football to continue to turn round 2 goal deficits in half an hour. We must play the 11 players available best suited to the way we play football, surely everyone can see that Ricci Fuller is one of those and that neither Dean Whitehead or Rory Delap can play in wide positions in a midfield with 2 centre mids who never run in front of the ball. We need width, we need real pace up front and we need players who can really hold the ball in the opposition half, not players who look like they can but in reality don't have the touch or the ability to win headers or free-kicks against the very best.
We have the squad to put out a decent Premiership team playing a high powered direct brand of pressing football that, on it's day, can unsettle any team in this division. It is time we started seeing that in every game.

Aside from any of the more subjective analysis, the fact that only Darlington have scored fewer goals than us in the whole of English football is enough to make you choke on your turkey sandwich and reach for another eggnog
These Goals, Shots, and Shots On Target stats (before todays games) are pretty sobering.
Arsenal 44 227 115 A Villa 29 160 67 B'ham 19 148 76 B'burn 17 181 75 Bolton 23 184 71 Burnley 21 160 70 Chelsea 43 309 138 Everton 23 195 85 Fulham 23 175 77 Hull C 17 131 59 Liverpool 34 241 108 Man City 33 187 94 Man Utd 37 238 106 P'mouth 17 198 73 Stoke 15 139 47 S'land 25 164 68 T'ham 40 251 115 W.Ham 26 205 95 Wigan 20 200 94 Wolves 17 148 59

If we're only having 2.6 shots per game on target, they've all got to go in. How sobering.

Mama was excellent at Villa.
Was today our shadow formation in order to rest those with niggles for the more important home games against Brum and Fulham.
Only Monday's formation will tell.

i cant see where we are going to be without Lawrence and Fuller in the starting 11 Whithead digging a fucking trench and Diao trying to decapitate everybody with rash challenges.

When I look at the bench we had today my first though is that we cannot afford to have talent like that on the bench.
