Am i missing something here?
On tonights Praise And Grumble our resident commentator, instead of asking some searching questions to our manager ( like team selection and tactics ) decided to ask him if he had received a christmas present from Coatsey's grandson.
The christmas present happened to be a book called the history of Stoke City!
Now at first i thought FFS i f**cking hate this radio stoke/stoke city love in, but was our Nige being a little mischevious and informing our illustrious leader, that our club, had used to be reknowned for the football we played, always played our strongest team and we used to play left backs at left back, right backs at right back and so on, creative midfielders in the right positions, and players who could get the ball into the box by crossing the ball and not throwing it.
Or look at it from another angle is there members of the Coates family getting a little tired of our Tone fucking everything up week in week out!.
Now like i said earlier is it a case of a love in, or was there an ulterior motive for the question?
Longton.

Nige's interview was piss poor tonight. Having spent over 8 hours out of the house today I would have expected him to challenge our Tone on why he keeps playinga lethargic Diao, why Lawrence never plays and is he going to persist witha clearly out of sorts Faye when he has 5 centre halfs that he's bought to the club, to choose from?
Like my arse Nige!

Nige's obviously been told not to contradict the party line.

So when was the last time that NJ ever put TP on the spot and grilled him?? I've been listening to these interviews for years and can't remember him ever giving TP a tough time. It's time he was put out to grass and replaced with someone with the b*lls to ask it how it is and if we were crap, to say so. All the Radio Stoke sports staff seem scared to be critical.

If you ask awkward questions, how welcome do you think Radio Stoke will be at SCFC?
You dont have to be a genius to work it out do you?
Ask Ferguson how much time he has for the BBC..............

The Christmas Pressie had been given a big build up before the game. They had already decided that NJ would ask TP about it after the game. The media are not there to represent the views of the PHWs. If you thought the interview was tame, then I'm afraid you have been infected by the dark side

Moose, if that's the case, it would probably be best if they didn't do an interview at all, rather than the worthless drivel we currently get

As always, the BBC produce a balanced report. If you think anything other than this then your views are extreme.

Sarcasm doesn't come across greatly in text so I'm being serious when I ask this question. The BBC are terribly biased when it comes to political agendas, and on MOTD against the bigger teams, and more and more evidently these days, against Stoke City. However Nigel Johnson has always seemed to be genuinally interested in Stoke City.

Did Tone mention whether he'd enjoyed any other books about Stoke City? Sorry mate ;D If its any consolation, I enjoyed your books, apart from the bit about visiting Bosklump - that made my blood boil

Sadly true. Just shows how far removed the "men of the people" like Coates and Pulis are. What a great democracy we live in. I mean, it's not like the public pay the BBC anything ......... oh, hang on ............

NJ could always have asked the question would there be any changes for Mondays game. Is Lawrence going to be playing and would we see Aresmendis playing for the 1st team after a poor run of results. Instead he asks him about a book ..FFS .... who cares about this book .... i guess he will be reading it in his hotel bed tonight..... the BBC need to wake up as we want to hear informative stuff from our manager....not the same old bollox

Spot on Winge!!
It will be interesting if Niges first question to Pulis on Monday is "did you read the book"?

Last season during interviews, Nigel tried to ask Pulis searching questions & Pulis got stroppy & put Nigel back in his box. Being the gentleman that he is, Nigel is now peddling a softer approach. He can't deal with Pulis, who is an abrasive character. I'm afraid that Nigel is too timid & we will never get him asking the type of question that we want him to ask. I.M.O. As for R.Stoke, they have to toe the 'party line', otherwise they won't be allowed near the club. That's why they are always defending T.P.
