When do their loan spells finish?I can see the deals being extended myself.

I can see Dicko signing for Barnsley in January. Not sure if TP will want Shotton back to have a look at him - we have so many centre backs he'll probably extend the loan. Certainly Barnsley want to keep both players.

Shotton, by the way, has just received his fifth booking of the season so will miss the Boxing Day clash against Preston.

If Shottons loan isn't being extending then he might as well come back to Stoke if he's suspended for the boxing day game.

Maybe he just wants to go the game? He was there last season. I was sat opposite him in the top tier.

I'd have them both back, make Shotton my third-choice stand-in centre-back behind Abdy and Ryan, and Dicko my fist-choice left-back (presuming we don't sign one in the January window!) Won't happen though!

Won't happen though! You don't rate Robert Huth then ??? Or..... Higgy and Danny Collins. ??? I think Abdy has gone off the boil since last season and isn't performing up to standards, I would personally play him from the bench *hides under bed*.

Nope, I don't rate Huth at all, and Higgy is an honest pro - but neither are Premiership standard, whereas Shotton might be given sufficient opportunity!
Nether Collins nor Higgy are the answer at full-back IMO.

Nether Collins nor Higgy are the answer at full-back IMO. Huth not Premiership standard? Huth is an excellent defender, my only concern is that it would be very difficult for him to break our central defensive pairing - and he hasn't done a dreadful job out of position at right back. Higgy is decent enough cover for the three of them. Collins is doing an adequate job at left back, if unspectacular.

I wouldn't mind Dicko being given a chance in the first team here. He's only 21 isn't he and better than Wilko was at that age. Its not like we have a surplus of decent left backs after all.

The problem with Dicko at the moment is curbing his sometimes reckless tackling. He may get away with it a bit more in the Championship, but in the Prem the prima donna wingers would fall over everytime he came close and he would easily get a red card or two

With a run of games I'm sure Dicko could prove just as successful as his doppelgänger Wilko

wilkos 25 (26 in march) and dickos only 22 (23 in march) wilko has only just about established himself in the first team if i was tony id let dicko go out on loan again for the rest of season and probably next season give him some prem experience
but if barnsley were to offer anywhere in the region of 1-1.5 mill i can see tony letting him go
