Agree. Dreadful how we blew our chances at Spurs and how we've only managed to get 21 points so far. dreadful too how we've only managed to improve immensely on last season's away form.
You're right mate, we should be shitting ourselves at the thought of playing Birmingham. In fact, lets just resign from the Premier League now and save ourselves further embarrassment.

i'm starting to get a little anxious if i'm honest. we could quite easily get sucked into the dog fight if we don't start picking the points up and lets face it it's not an easy run of games. the lack of goals is really concerning as we don't seem to have a settled partnership at the mo. can't see us getting relegated but we should be trying to improve on last year and i just don't think we're playing as well this season. we are on a poor run at present and need to turn it around quick.

Why oh why does he still keep picking Diao and Delap..I cannot understand this at all? Keep Delap on the subs bench and bring him on for his throws in the last 15 minutes if needed...Diao isn't good enough...full stop. And when is he going to give Arismendi a game? Pulis frustrates me so much...

Agreed.
We're in the best league in the world, apparently. So why make a hard job harder by not playing your best players?
Delap is a spent force, we should be bringing him on as a sub late on if we need to put a team under pressure, not using him as our main, ahem, tactic. Especially when Lenny, who recently excelled against the likes of Italy and France, is missing out.
Look how much better we were against Pompey when LL came on- if he's good enough for Trappatoni, he's good enough for Pulis.
As for Diao- he's too off the pace, and the amount of free-kicks he concedes puts us under extra pressure. Diao seems cemented in TP's plans while players with craft who can make things happen, like Whelan and Lenny, are treated like shite.

I'm concerned about the negative tactics that have already cost us points this season and will cost us more points if we don't try to win games more convincingly.
Pulis admitted this weekend that we need to be scoring more goals but with the forwards working on starvation rations due to the poor central midfield players Pulis picks then we will have problems.
The same central midfield combination of Diao and Whitehead won't be adding to the goal tally by any amount more than maybe 3 for the whole season, why did Whitehead try to pass when he had the goal in front of him at Villa ?
We maybe getting to the time of the season when even Pulis can see that we need to be creating more and being able to attack and defend from midfield.
Playing three defensive midfield players at home to anybody is a crime and though we did get 3 points against Pompey it was a lucky win, one of those where you play bad and still get the points, they don't happen too often.

worried we onna scoring from the strikers which with our strike force is slightly odd...I was thinking the other day we are currently in a similar place where reading were at...maybe the players have become complacent due to points and position...if we get nowt from Citeh TP has to make sure we win those next 2 home games no draw.

Not really. I think we'll finish lower mid-table. We are level on points with Sunderland. Are they going down?

we should be worried, if we loose on sat (highly likely) & any of Wolves, Blackburn or Burnley win they go above us if Wigan win they equal us on points so could go above us on gd -3 on us at the moment. even Everton could equal us on points but not GD by sat.
Our game in hand is against Fulham, the way their playing at the moment if we get anything it'll be a bonus. (our recent form even at home says draw likley)
But never mind as was pointed out to me in late Nov when i questioned our tactics "we're 9th for feck sake" so what do i know as i'm supposed to fall into the PHWS category, when i would just class myself as a realist who's supported us for yomks and know what were like for burying our head in the sand.

I'm stunned! Lord Effingham is worried and fancies we'll be in the bottom three soon. If someone with such a positive and supportive approach as him is worried, I guess we might as well give up now.

A win against Birmingham and a cup pasting of York should make everything look a bit rosier. We aren't in form at the moment, and some of the lower sides are on form. They will drop and we will come back into form. Hopefully.
