Was thinking the same 811 but either would be a great choice. Shame as kind of enjoying seeing them take a few beatings as the city fans I know were sure they'd be challenging for the title. Deluded little chaps they are :-)

I hope he goes there, it'd be nice to see someone other than Man Utd and Chelsea challenging for the title.

It would also seriously piss Fergie off if they can finish above Manure next season

Knowles,
DV seems to think we are not after Weiss. We are after Petrov on loan apparently.

At least for their sake they might be getting someone that can control all the big names and attract other ones. I just don't think Hughes is high profile enough to be in charge of that lot

Knowles, DV seems to think we are not after Weiss. We are after Petrov on loan apparently. Interesting. I can only go off what I have heard, and that is Weiss. Petrov is left sided and our best player this season plays in that position. A touch odd. No doubt that the Bulgarian has quality though- he wears a short sleeve shirt with gloves. Never understood that. Perhaps he could explain.

Mourinho won't go to City. He'll hold out for the Man Yoo job. a year or 2 ago yeh, but now im not so sure, man city - money to spend, man united - no money and in serious finincial difficulty if we believe what we read, plus anyone who takes over from sir alex will have an up-hill battle, will always be compared to him, and honestly hasent got a cat in hells chance of replicating his success if they didnt win the champions league within 3 seasons their fans would be calling for his head. anyone who went to man city would be a hero if they won one of the domestic cups and qualified for the champions league, which in all honesty, i think mourinho would do in a season.

I think it's the challenge of living up to Fergie that appeals to Mourinho.

i reckon mourihno would get more of a kick out of putting the cat amongst the pigeons in the "top 4", in a wierd way would also like to put ambamovichs's nose out of joint by winning the champions league with his open cheque book.
man city have the tools to do all this.

A Man City fan I know said to me the other week that in 25 years we'll still be talking about last season's game and how we once beat them................I think he failed to see that we beat far bigger sides like say Arsenal last term. What an arrogant comment.

Oh dear, it appears City have "enquired":
"City executive chairman Gary Cook asked about Hiddink's availability after his current deal runs out in August 2010, said agent Cees van Nieuwenhuizen."
so expect the infamous "full backing of the chairman & the board" for Hughes any time soon.
Not sure that would be entirely fair but what is these days - especially in football? With that amount of money ploughed in so far, the owners will want a return asap and, for whatever reason, the team simply isn't delivering fast enough.
You do have to wonder though has Hughes just overseen the assembly of a skilful but extraordinarily highly paid bunch of mercenaries that just haven't or won't gel like a team that has gone through thick & thin together.
I would like to see Hiddink here & Jose M back too but would also like Hughes to be given longer to sort it.

I think he'd find the allure of working with Man Yoo more enticing though. There's infitimitely more glamour and prestige attached to the name than City. Also, if he went to City he'd just be doing what he did at Chelsea - effectively buying the title.
