It sometimes takes a furore like the past week to open your eyes and see things with a bit more perspective, if Pulis was in the wrong and realised he was then he will have found it not nice eating humble pie, if Beattie was in the wrong then Pulis has handled the aftermath very well IMO and other big time Charlie players won’t want to fuck about with him. Gouranga.

If only...but no, Pulis will be exactly the same manager, he has one way of doing things and for better or worse he will never change...

Good managers will always learn by their mistakes and if Pulis is as good as some of the rimmers profess him to be (where are they all their silence has been deafening) then the least we can expect this season is a place n Europe. As for Sidibe I’ve never been a fan and never have rated him but I’d still pick him every time over an unfit out of sorts big time Charlie like Beattie seems to think he is. Gouranga.

i said this yesterday but worth a second shot - pulis has never had to manage big time charlies in the prem - and he is adapting well
even if he was in the wrong he has handled it well which sends out the right message to the current squad and our transfer targets
"zigic you work fucking mondays alrate"
"yeez boss"

You of all people should know how good Pulis is. Mind you I agree with your 1st post, I do think this has been a learning curve.

Not head-butting one of your players whilst stark, bollock naked - that's some learning curve?

He must have come desperately near losing his job though, let's hope that's going to a good shake-up not a bad one.

I suppose if nothing else, it shows that TP is passionate about Stoke!! He was obviously fired up and gutted after the arsenal game. I'm grateful for where he has taken us and right or wrong, i'll back him for that!

I'm grateful for where he has taken us and right or wrong, i'll back him for that! I couldn't agree more with the fact he is passionate about Stoke. And I fully believe that Pulis will have learned the simple fact that you can't keep the media out of everything. However, and I fullly believe this, I think TP and Stoke have handled this very well looking back. They kept quiet, didn't panic and just left it in the dressing room and drew a line under it. Beattie is now back training and fighting to be fit again and from Monday it was just a normal week in preparations for the weekend. Most other managers might have buckled and said something. But well done Pulis, well handled, now lets get 3 points this weekend, and shove all of the crap that has been spouted in the media this week back down their throats! We now have a point to prove, lets prove it! GOOAARRN STOKE!

Pulis no doubt had to deal with some fairly basic and difficult characters in lower division dressing rooms
It's probably slightly more difficult to deal with such people when they are very very wealthy as well.
