Carrying on from the Great Film Thread, some films start off brilliantly but don't always deliver at the end.
Dusk Till Dawn starts well, but turns into some kind of comedy vampire movie in the second half.
Full Metal Jacket for me is the best war film up until they graduate from training. It's still a good film but the war scenes are no better than many other war films out there.
Any others?

first half hour is the best half hour in cinematic history
the remainder is worse than "the transporter 2"

Carlito's Way ... bad start, and bad ending. a complete and utter rubbish film.

28 Days Later.
The bits in London and the drive up north are great, but when they reach the soldiers...downbank fast.
