With him missing QPR, I think Pulis will push him through for tomorrow's match. Nevertheless, he is a doubt!! 25/02/2008 - 4pm update: Pulis backing for delap Tony Pulis is putting his money on Rory Delap being fit for tomorrow's night's testing trip to Preston North End. Delap played through the pain barrier in the second half of Saturday's 1-0 home victory over Ipswich and required treatment afterwards. But Pulis said today: "He got a kick on the ankle and was close to coming off at half-time, but he played through it like the old pro he is. "I think his ankle is still a bit swollen, but I'm assuming he'll throw his hat into the ring as usual tomorrow." And Delap is likely to get the nod - if fit - because he is suspended at QPR on Sunday. Pulis is more likely to keep Salif Diao in mothballs on the bench tomorrow, therefore, knowing he will be needed in midfield for the televised clash at QPR. Danny Pugh is back from a one-match ban in time to face old club Preston, but Pulis is keeping everyone guessing about his final decision at left-back. "I thought Carl Dickinson did ever so well on Saturday, especially second half, so I've got no problems with Carl," added Pulis. www.whydelilah.co.uk/news/4pm-update--Pulis-ba93017249.aspx

Could be the usual Pulis kiddums, but if Rory's out then I'd be happy enough with Pugh and Whelan in the middle.

If there are any doubts about Delap's fitness, I'd be inclined to play Pugh at centre midfield and leave Dicko at left back. I know Delap is suspended for Sunday but I'd rather give him a longer rest - he deserves it after his efforts in the past few months.

I hope he keeps his place and Pughy plays left mid instead of Cresswell, but we shall see tomorrow!

"Like the old pro he is" doesn't he earn enough money from football then

I love cressy on the left.
Pugh does fuck all there. He's either left back, or a back up centre mid.

How can Delap be suspended for Sunday? When you accumulate your 5th booking I thought the suspension started on the seventh day after the booking. Now, he didnt get booked on Saturday against Ipswich, so it must have been against Sunthorpe on the Friday night, which means the next game 7 days after that game would mean the booking would be for the Preston game.
Or am I talking out of my jacksee as usual?

Ive checked the FA site and he's definitely there. It must be because the Preston game is a re-arranged game.

I missed that one, I thought it was just Lawrence who got booked. Oh well....I was talking out of my jacksee then, just as I predicted. Still, at least I'm consistent.

Whelan and Pugh int the middle. Worth a go! Lawrence did get booked and from where we were watching it looked close to lashing out/red type thing. I think this is when Magilton started to lose the plot.

Lawrence was booked for bugger all. It was in front of me and he did nothing, but the referee bought it.
