Tough game tomorrow night, but a win really puts pressure on the others. None of our immediate rivals playing tomorrow, but look at these fixtures on saturday, when we've got the day off.
Bristol City v Hull Burnley v Watford Sheff Utd v Charlton West Brazil v Plymouth
Win tomorrow nights takes us 4 ponts clear, with the chance of more ponts dropped by the others on Saturday.
Whatever we get at QPR would be a bonus if we can do Preston.

It is a huge opportunity. Although the other sides will have games in hand, I know where I'd rather be (with the points in my back pocket ) It won't be easy at Deepdale but we CAN get 3 points. Even 1 point wouldn't be a disaster but 3 would be superb (and ensure we are top against QPR)

With five straight wins I think we've already adopted a promotion mentality, nothing to do with cup finals...

Nice scenario will be that they have games in hand but have to win them to close the gap- we will still lead. Can't see WBA pulling back 10 points- fixture pile up and are losing games. Bristol at Charlton Tuesday night as well...........win tomorrow and looking very very good.

Fingers crossed WBA will beat Bristol Rovers too= fixture pile-up and mind on other things
Bristol City are the annoying team. Everyone expected them to fade away but they are still there and fair play to them (perhaps the national perception of us was the same?)
With BC and Watford to play, we really can decide our destiny!

You can see the belief growing in the team before your very eyes. They really do believe now that they can do it.
I see us taking a point from tomorrow, as Deepdale is a tough place to visit and they need the points even more desperately than us.
If we can get four points from this week's two games, I'd be very happy. It would be good to avoid defeat so as to stretch our unbeaten run and boost confidence even more.

Better yet WBA to draw at B Rovers but don't see them as our main contenders anymore.
Bristol City have two very tough games to come plus a visit to Watford and then us.
Still think Watford the team to beat- come above them and will be champions IMHO

4 points from these two next games would be a great result

The most important match of the season is the next one, from now until the end of the season.
Totally agree with mumf, all the games are now cup-finals. If we treat any game as more important than another we'll start getting complacent, and find ourselves where complacent sides deserve to be - outside the top two (just like West Brazil Albion).

mikey, I know where you and mumf are coming from but 'cup final' suggests win at all costs because there isn't another game afterwards...
We need to keep cool heads, put on measured performances and avoid red cards. Twelve games is not a sprint to the finish.
I think TP's 'mountain to climb' mentality is perfect for the run in

Games like this are the reason that Watford, West Brazil and to an extent Bristol have failed to take advantage when they were at the top, and really run away with it. It is massive for us in that it gives us our first real chance to open up a bit of a gap, and maybe go on and do what others have failed to do this season, and that is maintain a bit of breathing space. Very tough game and no doubt the pressure is really on now, but Jezza is right, the belief really is there. Here's hoping we can pull it out the bag!

Bristol have got a really tough run in. Also they are riding their luck big time. Late pen against Palace, mis hit for the winner against Scunthorpe, another deflected winner on Saturday. I just can't see them staying the pace.
Like us, Watford have the right formula for this league. When the teams are so even, sometimes power and organisation give you the edge. We've also added a bit of flair, and have firepower in several departments.
Since the Southampton nailbiter, I've thought we'd win the league with 84 pts from Watford, but that allowed us to draw at home to Ipswich.
The team looks confident, the squad better. Pericard and Zak couldn't make the bench on saturday.

Big opportunities are only big opportunities if you take them, and we won't know until after the game. So concentration and focus for the next game, whomever it may be, is key IMO.
Agree Ruts, cool heads and measured performances are exactly what we need - the build up for each game we play should be exactly the same - no game is more, or less important than another!
