I went to Shifnal Town last night, to tick off another local ground on my list. Five minutes into the second half, and already 3-0 down, Shifnal's goalkeeper was sent off for bringing down a Barwell striker. After a short delay, Adam Wykes stepped up and curled this beauty into the far corner, giving the second choice keeper no hope. The match finished 5-0 to the Midland Football Alliance league leaders.
Barwell have a former Stoke youth in their side. Francino Francis is playing at the heart of their defence these days. Some people may remember him as a striker for our youth team, before he moved to Watford, playing three times in their first team.
