Very good last year. If the result is as good make sure that you get onto the concourse early - those Stoke fans know how to party . The stewards were stopping anyone trying to join the party until after half time from what I remember Despite staring at relegation when we played last season I thought that the Hull fans were pretty good. Nice of their team to let us win! Good parking right by the stadium and everyone was very friendly. A nice policeman told us where the best chippie was. The Hull fans in there were very friendly as they were in the park whilst eating said fish and chips.

With 24,000 in the stadium they'd be mad if they didn't open! There's a recession you know

You're asking difficult questions know - on the far side of the main road that runs alongside the park - only about 100 yards from the junction at the corner of the park. If you can't find it just ask a nice policeman, they're very helpful in Hull

Decent enough ground these days but like other grounds it's blighted with a daft name!
Anyone old enough to remember us winning there 2 - 3 in the FA cup QF? Well, when it had the proper name Boothferry park. Those were the days!
There was a train that went right to the ground then. 15000 very happy Stokies that day.
Whoever's going have a good un!

It's not a bad stadium really, like most modern grounds it's pretty characterless though. I guess the weirdest thing about it is when you think it holds about 3,000 less than the Brit but it has all the corners filled in, it makes you reailse just how small the stands behind the goals and down the sides really are.
I actually thought the home crowd weren't quite as "up for it" as I'd expected them to be last year given the circumstances, but I guess tension got the better of them. It will be interesting to see how the Hull fans view Saturdays game, will they be venting their spleens at Tango should we get an early goal, or will they back their team to the hilt?
Either way, lets hope for an early goal for the Potters followed by a good away win. It won't be easy (far from it) but we are more than capable of going there and getting all three points.

My first impression of the KC was that it looked quite small and not particularly imposing. As Jamo says above it makes sense when you consider that the capacity is 3k below ours but with the corners filled in. That said, good view, decent legroom and better local facilities (pubs, chippy) than you often get at "new builds". Thought the home crowd were very disappointing last season considering it was their cup final (c. Phil Brown). Have a good day everyone who's going. I shall be justifying my Sky HD subscription this weekend RoryM

Unfortunately, was also there for a night match on a shitty Humberside evening when we drew 0-0, and somehow managed to nip in the "wrong pub" for a pint and got fucking wasted like I"ve never been wasted before
I fuckin hate Hull and the Silver Cod

I fuckin hate Hull and the Silver Cod Stoke have never done particularly well for themselves in or around the Silver Cod.. But, times have changed.. there isn't much bother at City these days.. the 'real' fans have been banned and replaced with FOAM HANDERS..
The capacity of the ground is only 25,000 it was built when we were in L2.. Nobody really believed we'd ever make the premier league.. There's plans to put a 2nd tier on the east stand, we could do with a bigger capacity..

I was at Boothferry Park for our Historic 3-2 win 1971... I think...packed in with a couple of thousand Stokies in the 'home end' (I was 7 at the time..Imagine that now!!)..you went through a turnstile and could then walk all round the ground and go almost anywhere... Great result but shit stadium..the KFC is miles better..and at least all the corners are joined up..creating a much better and warmer atmosphere and no gale force howling winds either

I was there old git that I am. One of my favourite games ever with about 41k in the ground. My hero waggy scored 2, dribbling the ball past Banks, and should have got a hat-trick just before half-time to make it 3-0 but he missed a sitter and you lot went up the other up of the pitch to and scored to make it 2-1. That was that with your 2 goals in the second half but Banks made a late save from a Terry Neill header that was nearly as good as the Pele one.

Its a pisser that we gotta put up with RL in this city otherwise with a bigger fan base, we'd have been established in the top league decades ago..

That is only true if none of your supporters watch either of the City's Rugby League teams. I'm sure there must be quite a few who watch both games. And I am pretty sure that ther will be some Rugby League fans who would not watch football if the City had no Rugby League team.

You're probably not wrong.. there maybe some that cross over and watch both, but not as many as you'd think.. RL is a different culture and mindset, it aint really the done thing to mix with the smelly fuckers..
It frustrates me that Hull City's biggest rivals dont even play the same sport as us, at work or in the boozer my arguments are usually football vs. RL/City vs. Hull/City vs. Rovers
Hull isn't a rugby town but its presence has hindered the football club, no doubt about it.. The number of people that play or watch professional or amatuer RL in this city is considerable..

My father's family come from Warrington (I was born there) and most of my cousins and uncles follow Warrington R/L team but most of them also follow Man United and three have been ST holders for years. There, I have got that off my chest! ;D

Some do.. some dont, but not too many.
Having said that, every time there's crowd trouble at Rovers or Hull.. Guess what? Hull City fans get the blame
Footnote: Wouldn't be seen dead at a RL match..it aint the done thing *spit*

billy- funny enough i had this conversation with a friend of mine who lives in hessle and he says that hull is a rugby city and that is the same as wigan so who is lying? Hull is a traditional RL city.. stroll down Hessle Road (Hull FC) or Holderness Road (HKR) and you will see more RL shirts than football in those particular 'working class' areas..
Overall throughout the rest of Hull and East Riding.. the football club has ten times the support, and receives much more coverage locally and nationally.. RL is utterly irrelevant outside the M62 corridor..
