Tweet from John Duerden (@johnnyduerden) John Duerden (@johnnyduerden) 18/12/2012 10:52 Korea media claims Stoke City have bid 8 million pounds for Korea international Lee Chung-Yong
He'd be a great signing but 8mill sounds a bit much.

8 million would be insane especially when we could have got Jarvis for that and what we paid for Kightly.

@johnnyduerden: Lee CY's dad says offers from a few EPL clubs. Problem was Bolton's price. Now Stoke ready to pay 8m, he's unsure what will happen.

Yeah for a change! Agree with you though, 8mill is insane especially when we could have got him before he went to Bolton.

-Just relegated -been injured for 6+ months -can't cement his place back in an average Championship side
= 8 million?
I can well believe that we're interested but that doesn't add up. The new technical director bloke we have was an agent in his move to Bolton.

I'll be amazed if it's £8m straight up front. A structured deal that could reach that figure seems reasonable though, as long as we have no major fears over his physical condition since the injury (which presumably we don't if this story is true) Definately a signing that would excite me if it happened

Since we now buy players for their PR value (Owen, Edu, Cameron) I can see us doing this to open up the Asian market

And there we have it in a nutshell

However, for all of the reasons stated above £8 million is insane. Half that plus add-ons tops, surely?

Hed be a good signing, its not my £8mil! Be happy with him n kightly. No return for pennant im guessing if were shopping for a winger. Him and olsson would get us firing i think

Since we now buy players for their PR value (Owen, Edu, Cameron) I can see us doing this to open up the Asian market I hope Dadofsam is not suggesting that Geoff Cameron has not been a very useful signing for Stoke City. Without him where would we have been in the full back position since Marc Wilson's injury.

True it's not my money so I'd be happy to have him here but he has had a bad injury. Has he played much this season?
