Has he been playing regularly for Bolton this season after last seasons injury? Pretty averagely by all accounts.

Mate of mine is a long in the tooth Bolton fan and follows home and away. He rated this guy so highly, until his I injury. He is now according to him a shadow if that player. Just texted him and he said think Etherington post injury and that is Lee Chung

Cheers chaps.
Seems a regular then so far, but worrying if he isn't the same player after injury. We need to start steering away from these players!

That does sort of miss out the bit where Birmingham rejected a £16.5m bid from us for Dann and Jerome. I agree though, surely we should be able to get him for half that? As Lordb asks, you have to wonder where he'd play? Yeah we were daft but not too daft ;D And I'm not sure, I found this though. On 29 May 2012 it was confirmed that Lee had signed an unannounced new contract the previous summer, extending his stay at the Reebok to the end of the 2014–15 season.Which may explain the reporter mentioning a high price. But he's a midtable Championship player and I don't think many have come from lower leagues with that price tag before. Fletcher - Prove goalscorer in Prem Wickham - Overhyped But yeah there's no way on this planet we'd pay 8m for him when there's wingers out there who we could get for less. I'd like to see N'Zogbia here, can play on both wings, takes on his man, pacey and skillfull. "takes on his man"; a very rare commodity indeed. Let's have both Chung and N'Zogbia. It inner my money!

When there's Bolasie, Redmond, Bakary Sako and Matt Phillips available in the same league this just seems a tad underwhelming.

I think hes a quality player. He definitely seems to have been, pre-injury. Doesn't seem to have pulled up any trees whatsoever this year, though, after his year out. And Palaciosgate is enough to give anyone the sh**s about buying someone who hasn't really proved themselves physically after a very bad injury.

If i'm honest i've seen very little of him this season but followed him closely in the premier league and always rated him. Hes technically good but also has the work ethic of a TP type player. Think he could be very useful for us. Great that we can then drop Etherington too (or Kightly)

Two years ago Lee was a quality PL winger. Plenty of top clubs sniffing around him.
He's still only 24 and the fact that his recovery has been slow could be a good thing as it means we don't have to fork out silly money for him.
When you factor in our current options on the right side of midfield this guy should be pretty near the top of our transfer wish list.

Has got the work ethic and offers creativity and mobility.

Well I don't see many approving comments from people when he plays people out of position, I didn't know he'd done it for Bolton though We need improved wingers though so I don't see any point in him playing anywhere else, put Walters where he plays best and lose Adam, that's what I'd like to come out of this anyway

8 mil may seem a lot for him, but PC is probably prepared to pay a bit extra for him than a similar player due to the potential revenue he could bring to the club by opening the Asian market.
He's worth a bit more than an English player of the same skill purely due to that (ie. if we were after 2 wingers of the same skill level, then it would make sense that we're prepared to bid more for the Korean one than the English one).
