:oUnbelievable, knee jerk reaction to a lack of long term club planning. What price Mick McCarthy as replacement?

Really?! In modern terms he's been given every chance and taken the club on an horrific downward spiral pretty much from the minute he took the job. Overrated media darling.

Basically one bad result (in the semi) and their whole world spiralled out of control. Any decent manager would have turned things around but the facts are, he couldn't. Not only that but his board back him and allow him to keep his team together in an attempt to bounce straight back up and he can't buy a win in the division below. Massively over-hyped thanks to a few media friendly soundbites. No substance to him at all though, all talk and a pair of shorts.

I find it hard to have any sympathy with him. He's not been starved of cash - for a club with over £80 million of debt, he's had a surprising amount to spend. Their performance against us at Wembley (when going into the match they were 8th in the table) was one of the greatest examples of a team punching way, way, below their weight that I've ever seen. If you can't get decent players to perform for you then it's time to go. he should have left in May, in my opinion - they'd have been in a better position now with a manager who could add some backbone to their play.

Yes you are right, it all went totally pear shaped for them after Wembley didn't it ? Hard to understand why really but that game seemed to be the catalyst of their decline .You can see Burnley fans doing the conga already ;D

Hardly a knee jerk reaction he's had nearly 18 months support while Bolton have hit the buffers many might say they hung on too long and maybe shuld have a fresh start in the summer.

So they swapped Gray Megson because the football was dour. They employed Owen Coyle who stylishly achieved relegation within two years. Now they are going to get Mick McCarthy in who is perhaps more in the mould of Megson than Coyle ...I'm not surprised they're called the Wanderers, they have no idea which direction they want to go in.

A large part of the reason that they were 8th at the time is that they had Sturridge on loan banging in goals all over the place. The fact that he wasn't available for the semi final tells you how reliant they were on him. I also think the loss of Stuart Holden was a huge blow . Overall though I don't really feel sorry for him at all. Massively overhyped and the notion that he was somehow transforming Bolton into a Barcelonaesque bastion of free-flowing beautiful football was one of the biggest media-driven fallacies of the last few years. And he did look like a twat in those shorts!

Having looked at the twats career he should have got out of football when his playing days were over as it appears not to be too bad. Although i would love to think that his Wembley hammering by the mighty reds was the catalyst to his final demise i reckon that it's down to his non drinking, devil dodging, jock lifestyle that eventually fucked the wanker up! hahahahahahah

I always quite like Owen Coyle.
Or at least I thought among the cess pit of football managers he was no worse than anyone else.

it's funny really, all of the managers that become media darlings for their philosophies and 'the right way' speeches all end up either relegated or jobless.....or both.
Phil Brown Owen Coyle Brendan Rodgers (ok maybe not relegated or jobless, but definitely pressure is mounting) Harry Redknapp Ian Holloway
yet Pulis is criticised year after year yet he still delivers results for us every season
