There were a few times today where they were doing it just to waste time. I don't know what the rules are but I wouldn't give them the ball back after it has been put out of play.It was taking the piss as half the time the so called injured player ran to the touch line to be waved back on. The c*nt had also made sure he got Huth sent off, by rolling around, nice to see that O'Neil has spent his coaching time well.

100% agree... why, when they watch the sending off back and see that huth never actually touched him, cant they ban the player who got him sent off??

The culprit who dived should receive a 3 match ban and if he does it again a longer ban etc
Will never happen though, killing the game

I was really wound up by this it's one thing I hate, at least 3 players were "injured" today in the Sunderland team. That knob Mignolet kept wasting time with goal kicks too.

I've been watching the black cats on tv since Mon took over. There's a noticeable change in their behaviour, which includes lots of feigning injury and quite a lot of questionable tackling...MON a messiah??? You can keep it mate.
Its such a shame that the game is becoming more and more about wank refereeing decisions and less about the football. It's just gonna get worse and worse and I'm beginning to lose interest. Listen to the Morons on 606 (smug Sunderland fan at 6:15 in partic trying to get Pulis into trouble for gestures to the away fans).
Contrast it with the england Scotland rugby game.
Premier league....sort your shit out before its too late.

There was lots of rolling around by the visiting players but after seeing what Larsson did at Wolves to win that penalty perhaps it's not all that surprising.

2nd time this season, Sunderland have been embroiled in a cheating row.
First time was the penalty decision at Wolves.
Coincidence?

It seems Martin O'Neil was in on the time wasting as well, did anyone else see him wipe the ball with a towel?

Said this many times and take it one step further if cheating results directly in a goal being scored then that goal should be cancelled out by the panel. This is the only way to rid our game of this hideous blight.

We can waste time better than any team I've seen - but what we don't do is fake injury. Pulis tells the players to get back up; you can hear him shouting it.
We have our cynical side in terms of tugging shirts and time wasting, but what we absolutely do not do is try and get another player booked or sent off.
I'm actually starting to think we should join in. Stay down until the card comes out. Our honesty in this respect is costing us points.

Sorry, like, but it is absolutely appalling that people are calling Meyler a cheat on here.
Yes he didn't catch him too badly, but there was some contact and Meyler had to basically jump out of the way of it and risk an awkward landing or basically risk another career threatening injury.
Huth went to ground AFTER Meyler had played the ball, and with his injury record he has every right to stay down and have it checked. In fact he would be stupid not to.
Huth didn't have to commit to the tackle like he did and to go to ground in that fashion and in those conditions is asking for trouble and pure idiocy.
A lot of people on this thread sounding like Liverpool fans: "Poor us. Someone else's fault. Cry cry cry."
Poor decision from Huth to go to ground after the ball had gone, poor decision from the referee to send him off when a yellow would have sufficed, but to call into question the professional and sporting integrity of a 22-year-old kid who's been through hell with injuries already for staying down and fearing the worst again is shockingly poor craic.

How long did Larsson get after his disgarceful CHEATING at Wolves? Expect this story to run and run and run.

Hang on there, when you consder the other things that went on in the match i think should reconsider...certainly he wasn't the only one who 'stayed down'. A 22 year old kid who is injury prone perhaps shouldn't have played in such shocking conditions.

I think that's being ultra kind to him, mate. As you say Huth hardly touched him so it's fair to assume he knew he wasn't in any pain. 22 or not, plenty of players know how to "play the game" and it didn't look that great to be honest.

I actually thought the lad was Sunderland's best player today, but a cheat is a cheat and it will affect the rest of his career in England.

No one knows how awkwardly he landed. No one knows how his knee stood up to the impact after having two major surgeries on it in the past 18 months or so. No one knows how hard he felt the impact of the tackle. And there was impact. I don't buy this 'didn't touch him' nonsense. Look at the leg he kciks the ball with. It is on the follow through as Huth goes through him and ends up behind him when Huth is past him. So happy to concede the ref got it wrong, but a bunch of people basically wallowing in ignorance, making presumptions left right and centre to form the basis of a character assassination on a player is very poor form indeed. Imagine if it was Sidebe after all his injury problems in the same position. People here would be queueing up to give him the benefit of the doubt.

It is impossible to defend Meyler's reaction to what was the slightest of contact with Huth. He did it for one reason and one reason only....and he succeeded
