What did Collins do wrong today? People look out for every fault he does, meanwhile Wilko will possibly make as many mistakes in a game, yet people only look for the positives. Collins has been in the defence that has seen us keep 2 clean sheets on the bounce, the last time Higgy played he was at fault for 2 goals.

Yeah but on current form, Collins doesn't deserve to be dropped, he's as steady as Higgy and he's not given away 2 goals in a game recently unlike Higgy.

Bego: 8 Wilko : 5 Collins: 5 Huth 7 Ryan:7 Whitehead: 6 Rory: 6 JP n/a Tuncay: 6 Ethers: 5 (worst game for Stoke - good penno though) Jones: 6 Ric: 7 Walters: 7 honestly I thought its the worst we've played for ages overall passing was shocking still good attitude throughout Think your spot on mate, result really flattered us we were very poor at times sitting too deep alowing wba to play and would have been punished if they had a striker in the box on the end of all the crosses. wilko was caught out and lack of pace really showed, dont think tuncay helped him defensively as much as pennant would seems to drift in to a more central position leaving wilko exposed.

Bego - 8 - Trusting him a lot more Wilko - 7 - Looked a bit slow, but plenty of effort and looked slightly cooler. Ryan - 8 - Didn't do too much wrong, bit haphazard sometimes. Huth - 8 - As above Collins - 7 - Caught out of position a few times Ethers - 5 - Bad game, not at the races at all Whitehead - 7 - Box to Box plenty of running Rory - 8 - 1 misplaced pass, quality game. Pennant - ? - couldnt judge Ric - 7 - Worked harder than Jonesy KJ - 5 - Just doesn't look interested to me.
subs Tuncay - 7 - Didn't do much wrong, lot of aaaaard work Walters - 9 - This was just the match for Jon Wilson - ? - can't judge

Bego - 8 Good display Wilko - 7 Pretty solid Huth - 8 The Wall! Ryan - 8.5 Outstanding Collins - 6.5 OK but did get done a bit Tuncay - 7 Pretty disciplined and great ball for 2nd pen Whitehead - 8 Box to box, covered every blade Delap - 7 Good support for Deano Ethers - 6 Not at his best, cool penalty Ric - 6.5 Bit of an off day but worked really hard KJ - 6.5 Again not great but had hand in two goals
Subs Walters - 8 Great ten minutes Wilson not on long enough really

I'll go with that fella. We win 3-0 and people are very quick to throw 8's and 9's around when in truth it was a very average performance against a West Brom team who didn't turn up. if we had lost chances are they would have got 3's and 4's ;D Ever heard of punctuation?

Rich, I can name a defender in the PL who (occasionally) plays it out of defence. His name is Abdoulaye and he nearly gives me a heart attack.

Collins was woeful and did very little right all match long. How anyone can fail to see that is beyond me in all honesty.
He has been a weak link in the team since Bolton away, having previously been much improved. At the moment, we are carrying him.

Begovic - 8. Faultless, some good saves but didn't get tested much.
Wilkinson - 7. Got alot of support from Tuncay/Pennant/Walters so not much to do. Huth - 8. Dealt with Odemwinge well. Shawcross - 9*. MOTM Collins - 7. Didn't have much to do, looked good going on the attack
Pennant - 6. Only lasted 15 min's, but would have been harsh to give him less than 6. Whitehead - 8. Broke up play well and also looked a danger at times going forward. Delap 7. Broke up play well. Offered the centre backs alot of cover. Etherington - 7. Took the penalty well and offered alot of width down the left.
Fuller - 7. Didn't get much support in the first half, lively in the second. Jones - 8. Lovely drag-back for third goal, showed some real class yesterday.
Walters - 8 Tuncay - 8

Bego - 8 – Very confident with him between the sticks Wilko - 7 – Another decent performance and adds much needed balance to the defence Ryan – 7 – Steady as ever, winning most things at the back. Needs to improve distribution Huth – 7 – Forming a great partnership with Ryan. Reliable again Collins - 7 – Much better after a bad game last time out. Forming part of our strongest back 5 Ethers – 6 – Not his usual performance, bit off the pace Whitehead – 7.5 – Showed his engine once again, he’s back in top form Rory – 7 – Again, forming a great partnership with Deano. Reliable as ever Pennant – n/a Ric - 7 – Not at his best but still a threat KJ - 6 – Did well to set up the third, frustrating at times
subs Tuncay - 7 - Put a shift in again, not much end product though Walters – 8 – Would have been a 9 but for the ‘tasche Wilson – n/a

I find it strange that you can give collins the same marks as huth and shawcross I would have given Ryan an 8 but for his poor distribution. He was miles better than collins still, collins got done over for fun on the that side, surely even you could see that?

Its a good job huth and ryan were solid because they had plenty of crosses to deal with

Wilkinson’s performance against Liverpool showed just how limited a player Collins is. In two years (and £3M later) Collins hasn’t put in a performance that could touch that. Sadly they were both pretty poor on Saturday and we need two new ones. Even with that in mind though, changing your back four after two clean sheets would be as idiotic as it gets.

Wilko wasnt at his best on sat but he did play better as the game went on. I think he is good enough to be our number 1 RB but it would be nice to have some competition for him instead of huth
