I saw that when it was posted on instagram at the time. I wondered why Pearson calls them "my little boys" but I'm guessing he's maybe one of the leaders in the dressing room. Knocks on the head the myths about him not wanting to play for us now AN has left too Is there such a myth,? It's just when he does play, he's a liability and we're a better side without him See the first quote response to my post.

Million reminds me of Chelsea Mo Salah.
I'm not saying he will be as good as Mo Salah, of course I'm not but he's come to this country a bit raw and a bit weak but is improving and getting stronger with each passing week.
The two articles posted on the sentinel have some great quotes from him, he seems a good lad, with the right attitude and work ethic and knows what he needs to reach his potential.
We really could have some player on our hands.

Yeah of course but it’s still going to be a busy old summer Yes but 10 signings is pretty standard these days If we sign some of the current loanees (imo there is a case for 4 of them) then that reduces the disruption Barring Iversen and I'm not that bothered about him as if we can get better & probably cheaper too, I wouldn't be too enthused about signing any of the loans. They've all been inconsistent and contributed to us being shit for 90% of this season. Hoever likes to bookend a season playing well with a load of shite in the middle. He does add a massively needed goal threat but can be a liability defensively and we have Junior with Gooch/Leris as back up. He'll be expensive too, Wolves paid £10m for him and he must have at least 2 years of his deal left, even with Amortisation that's still around £4m plus his massive wages. There's a lot of recency bias about Cundle due to a goal and 1 good game against his former team. I don't think he's a bad player he could potentially be very good but a permanent move in Jan was too expensive and would a loan benefit either party when there's a good chance he may find himself on the bench again anyway. McNally has been a calamity at times, personally can't wait to see the back of him. We need better. And I'm assuming you meant Haks is the one without a case, for obvious reasons.

Skeleton Stoke City squad for next seasonGK: Jack Bonham, Scott Morris, Tommy Simkin RB: Junior Tchamadeu LB: Liam McCarron CB: Michael Rose, Ben Wilmot, David Okagbue, Matty Baker CM: Wouter Burger, Josh Laurent, Lewis Baker, Daniel Johnson, Ben Pearson, Sol Sidibe RW: Million Manhoef, Lynden Gooch, Mehdi Leris LW: Bae Junho, Andre Vidigal, Nikola Jojic CF: Ryan Mmaee, Niall Ennis, Nathan Lowe, Emre Tezgel Out of contract/loan playersDaniel Iversen, Enda Stevens, Ki-Jana Hoever, Luke McNally, Ciaran Clark, Jordan Thompson, Luke Cundle, Sead Haksabanovic, Wesley, Tyrese Campbell, Frank Fielding, Tom Edwards, D’Margio Wright-Phillips, Blondy Nna Noukeu GK LB x 2 CB x 2 Winger ST That's the bare minimum. The squad is still big though and will probably see McCarron, DJ, Vidigal depart. Mmaee, Pearson, Baker are all maybe's. Potentially Sidibe, Lowe, Tezgel and Jojic out on loan too. That would reduce the numbers and probably allow us to bring in another CM but a lot of that depends on JT and whether he stays I reckon. If Mmaee was to depart we'd need another Striker too. The sentinel keeps saying it won't be as mental as last season but I can easily see 10 coming in the door, considering we need 7 as a bare minimum. it could be 10 yes that's significantly less than least summer though Yeah of course but it’s still going to be a busy old summer

There’s a lot of things that can happen still in this relegation race. However Stoke going down will not be one of them. Chill out folks we’re safe. And I thought I was a doom monger…. The bookies essentially have this set of results (or similar) at 500/1. Interesting. Blackburn - Coventry (Home win) Hudds - Brum (Away win) Sheff Wed - WBA (Home win) Millwall - Plymouth (Draw) Saints - Stoke (Home win) QPR - Leeds (Away win) Going into the last game the table would be: 17 Blackburn 52 18 Stoke 50 19 QPR 50 20 Sheff Wed 50 21 Plymouth 49 ------------------- 22 Brum 49 23 Hudds 44 (R) To see us down (on GD or worse) it would only need to take the following results on the usually crazy last day: Coventry - QPR (draw or away win) Stoke - Bristol City (away win) Brum - Norwich (draw) Plymouth - Hull (draw or home win) Sunderland - Sheff Wed (draw or away win) Coventry are or will be dead after today. Bristol City have a great record here. Norwich and Hull could potentially be on the beach by then for different reasons and Sunderland have a worse home record than us! Negative and unlikely, absolutely. Certainly not impossible in the daft environment of the Championship. I certainly wouldn't have it at 500/1! So you’ll be backing the 500/1 then.

So by your logic, John Eustace's record of knowing what to do in a relegation battle, was from when he "winged it" last season (when they finished on 53 points, the same as Stoke) because he'd had no experience of one before then, if indeed that even was really a relegation battle? Birmingham were definitely in a relegation battle under Eustace - it's rather odd to question his credentials because he actually did so well. Even if Eustace's first relegation battle was with Birmingham the point is he succeeded so he had that experience when he was an option for Stoke and he's repeating the trick at Blackburn. Eustace's appointment by Birmingham may well have been a risk for Birmingham but now he has that experience under his belt it is less of a risk now. There's nothing wrong with my logic - Schumacher was a far riskier appointment for a club in relegation battle than Eustace. The fact it may have been a risk at the time for Birmingham is completely irrelevant. Schumacher was making just a good a fist of it, if not better with Plymouth at the time though, with a lot less resources than Eustace had at Birmingham. Granted he hadn't had a full season but they were well on course to staying up comfortably. If Eustace wasn't such a popular player, his name wouldn't even be mentioned on this board, not positively anyway. Let's not forget, he finished on the same points as Alex Neil did with Stoke last season and that was deemed a massive failure. Yet if you take the Stoke tinted specs off, Birmingham probably had a better side than us. Ruddy, Trusty, Sanderson, Bielik, Hannibal, Chong, Jobe Bellingham, Bacuna all walk in to last season's Stoke side & I could probably argue Jutkiewicz and Hogan would've played a lot of games too.

He did have a really bad cruciate injury - it was a risk but then look at that defender we didnt go for from Man Utsd and hes doing OK, so you never know. Pulis had a team full of "Battersea Dogs Home" players - so we should'nt be too hard on him or the signing itself. Just need to offload when we can if he's not going to improve Officially he will be gone in the close season…….out of contract. Having not being anywhere near the 1st team nor U21’s makes you wonder if he’s still here at present He was here last week because he posted a pic of one of the "care packages" sent to the players from Korean Bae fans.

Yeah, I was going to come on to make the same point, however, I think his point may be that they steadied the ship with draws and their more recent form is better than ours which is probably right. Definitely much of a muchness though, and Schumacher overall has a better record in terms of points gained. I would suggest our form/performances have probably been more erratic than Blackburn's. Eustace has had less time than Schumacher to turn things round and yes my point was that he started by making them hard to beat and they are coming into good form at the right time. We are still a bit of a soft touch and our performances are still erratic. If you asked me which manager is better equipped to deal with a relegation battle I'd still say Eustace. The problem is there were people who didn't think we were a relegation threatened team when Schumacher was appointed and it was just a matter of steering them to a top half finish. If that were the case then Schumacher was a decent choice but it wasn't. We were in a relegation battle and we needed a manager with a track record of knowing what to do in a relegation battle. Schumacher is winging it, Eustace knows what he is doing. So by your logic, John Eustace's record of knowing what to do in a relegation battle, was from when he "winged it" last season (when they finished on 53 points, the same as Stoke) because he'd had no experience of one before then, if indeed that even was really a relegation battle?

Good post. I'll caveat it by adding that any manager is a risk. We've had wet behind the ears to experienced. All failed/struggled, so suggests it's very hard job for any manager. Who was available at the time to replace the lamentable Alex Neil (who was experienced btw) Yes all new managers are a risk but lack of experience of dealing with a bad situation just makes the appointment even higher risk. Not an exciting appointment but I would have gone for John Eustace - been there done that at Birmingham and was sacked for no good reason when near the top of the league - and look where they are now. Doing a decent job in similar circumstances at Blackburn having taken over later than Schumacher. Eustace started by making Blackburn hard to beat and they are going into the business end of the season in good form while we are treading water with no consistency in terms of starting 11, formation or level of performance. I know who I would prefer in charge at this points of the season when you need to grind out results. In the last 10 games Stoke Won 3 Drawn 3 Lost 4 Points 12 Blackburn Won 2 Drawn 5 Lost 3 Points 11 Eustace total blackburn record Played 14 won 2 drawn 8 lost 4 Points 14

In the very early 70's I was on the board of Bursough Fc and it was mandatory for semi professional clubs, even at that North West Counties level, to have insurance for all players, even those being paid just travelling expenses. Money was always tight at that level but player insurance was one of the things that we always ensured was covered as a priority. For Stoke City, allegedly, not to be doing this 50 years on for a team playing, under their stewardship, is an absolute outrage. I do not for one minute believe that Stoke will not do the right thing and help get this lady sorted and supported. Even a bucket collection at the next two home games would help considerably, if the ladies team could organise it. It's been announced they're going to cover her costs

some people on here think the women should be eternally grateful to even get a chance of having a kickaround in the red and white stripes... she was wearing our colours when she got injured we should have a responsibility for her. That's a difference discussion to whether you don't watch women's football, or whatever. Rightly or wrongly, it seems it's an issue throughout women's football though, not just Stoke. From what I can see, clubs at that level don't cover players.

AFter the awful PR disaster of the national media exposing the weaknesses of SCFC's women's structure last year, you would expect absolutely every single micro-detail to be in place, and money spent accordingly to do this. Indeed, we aren't talking a substantial amount. Where they play and if they are medically covered are surely two huge questions that would have been sorted straight away? Most of the women's squad live a fair distance away, so its staggering that cover isn't provided along with a raft of other logistical offerings? From what I'm reading, seems like the medical cover or lack of should I say, is common within the women's game at this level. Where they play is a joke but is being addressed isn't it? albeit should've probably happened by now as it was 12 months ago when the Norton issues went viral.

I'd be amazed if it says that to be honest as even an under 8 academy player gets sorted after an injury. Even if it doesn't, questions need to be asked why semi-professional footballers aren't insured by clubs giving contracts when they work elsewhere. Non-league do. Yeah they probably should but if they don't and the players will know this when they sign, I'm sorry you can't come begging if/when you get injured, you knew the risks, just like anybody that has played sunday football down the years has. From reading her post, the issue is the NHS, not the club. Yet people have jumped on the bandwagon and using it as another stick to beat the club with. If they haven't broken contract, then they've done nothing wrong in this case.

They aren't professionals. It's surely no different to if I broke my leg playing on a sunday? They'll be contracted mate and in the contract it must state that no medical bills due to injury will be footed by the club then? You can't willingly sign a contract, then cause a massive uproar when something like this happens just because it's a multi-million pound football club. My mate at work fell in his back garden last week, broke his leg and ruptured ligaments, is going to be off work for 8-12 weeks and will only receive stat sick pay. It's just the way it is sometimes, he's not moaning about it because he knew when he too the job that we don't pay sick pay.

I still feel Iverson is not the one we need in goal - the number of times he should have (note: not should of) come out when the ball was floated in to our 6 yard area was criminal. Even their (not There) goal could have been avoided if Iverson had been more assertive and got to the ball and just punched it away - then of course we had two defenders turning their backs on the SW player who scored with a cross shot. Definitely room for improvement and maybe we go for Travers because for me Iverson is no better than Bonham. Sorry but the lack of English grammar on this forum is shocking. Bonham doesn't save the chance early in the first half. In fact there's been quite a number of saves recently that Bonham gets nowhere near. This idea that Iversen is no better is frankly laughable.
