Folk will diss I am sure - this is more location than anything Mick if it helps to expand his search I live in the sunny valley of Biddulph, right on the border with Cheshire (Congleton) I work in Alderley Edge (we have just moved office from Wilmslow), it takes me 20-25 mins to get there by road Stoke/Festival Park is 20-25 mins the other way Easily reachable in 30-40 mins are Macc, Leek, Cheadle (Hulme and Staffs), Crewe, Uttoxeter, Rocester, Stone, Madeley. Obvs road networks for A500/A50/A34/M6 all available too (if its one thing we do have a luxury of in S-o-T its a good road network out of it!) Congo has a train station (4 miles from my house) with regular Manchester and Stoke trains hourly (£7 for a single to Piccadilly!) Absolutely insane amount of new build work going on in Congleton and outskirts currently. Rental prices are fairly reasonable (purchase prices are rising as overspill from Cheshire and lots of new houses) - its a nice place to live. **Edit** plus we have our excellent Knypersley and Biddulph supporters clubs with 4-5 coaches to every home game, and 1-2 for each away game. This is the key selling point. Used to love the coach trips to games from Knypersley. Lived on Thames Drive. Workwise BM I was at a builders based in Butt Lane called Lench. They supplied the gangs that built the houses on the old Victoria ground site. Ade Lench is the guy who owns the firm, great guy, very approachable and they've got a company box at the 365. Definitely worth a call.

After giving up the motorbike first car was Triumph Herald, couldn't really get enthusiastic about that but the MK3 Cortina GXL was great. Rusted for fun and a money pit but it was worth the effort, even had the engine out and rebuilt it at a time when doing that was a straightforward job. Mk3 Cortina was the best car I ever had! Only a 1600 engine but I always suspected someone put a two litre in, it was really fast off the mark! Gear stick came off in my hand but was still able to use by wiggling it back in, the gear box was that smooth! Sold it in London for twice the price I paid, £200 profit! 😒 Wings were full of filler. When the buyer asked if they'd been filled my London friend said, no they're fibreglass! 😂🤫 I could get into the Cortina with a lollie stick unfortunately, thankfully I was the only person who knew that and it wasn't really high on the nickable list at the time 🙂
