as many of you may be aware , i live in America and have done since leaving stoke in 1976. so keeping up wit hthe Potters was hard to do until the advent of the internet. Bu admittedly it was only until the last 4-5 years that i have really got to the point of following them closely again with all the web sites, listening to every game on the web too. even though i have returned to visit on a few occasions i have never been able to get to agame. That all changes this Saturday. i will be coming to Stoke Friday morning for a Saturday memorial service for my dad who died recently. but my brother and even maybe another brother too is headed down to the Brit today to buy me a ticket for the Ipswich game, Yes ladies and gentleman, I will be in attendance at Saturday's game ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Great times. I do the same, listening over the Internet. When I was last over at Xmas 2004, I had to endure losing to Ipswich away (because my brother-in-law wouldn't drive me there) - watched it in the pub in Berkhamsted, Herts, 0-0 v Cov City at home on Boxing Day, then watching use lose to Notts Forest away when they got relegated. We were supposed to be home in Sept/Oct for the Prem celebration, but huge business changes unfortunately makes this impossible. At least we have Sky/Fox, but I should imagine that the "soccer" is very scarce in the USA

Welcome home!! ;D
I know the life of a long distance supporter and it ain't easy.
When I was in Bermuda and then Hong Kong, I only managed half a dozen or so games a season and those at great expense (I made two trips back in three weeks from Bermuda for the last game of the season and the play-off final just afterwards when we came up to this league!).
Now I am in Jersey (Channel Islands, not "New"), it is a bit easier, but still not cheap. I came home for the Wolves and Southampton games last week and should have made at least a dozen matches before the season's finished.
Somehow, when you know you are coming home for only a game or two, they seem even more special. Enjoy it.

SOrry to hear about your Dad, but hopefully you can enjoy the game anyway. I've been in the States since August last year and am flying back for the Burnley game, and I"ll be introducing my American girlfriend to the charms of the Brit for the first time. It's tough having to miss out on all the fun this season, but at least we hear the games online, and have some banter on here, and they do at least show the goals on FSC. YOu can also get some Championship games on Setanta if you have Direct TV, QPR v Stoke is on live I think.......unfortunately it's on at the same time as my flight home, so I'll be missing that one!
