Its funny that Tony Adams is now so highly regarded. For a long time he was the epitome of an old fashioned English donkey player!
Its right that he is so highly regarded though. He was a colossus.

I think that was a bit harsh Joe and had a lot to do with the tabloids as well. He did say in a documentary that he played a few games whilst a bit worse for wear which gained him the reputation.
An absolutely quality player. Alongside Dave Watson (SLand, Soton, Stoke) and Terry Butcher the best CH I've seen in an England shirt.

My bestest England centre half (remembering I missed out on Bobby Moore) would be Rio Ferdinands performances at the last World Cup. The only marker to stop Ronaldo from scoring.
On the Adams perception the thing is that you find the media get onto something and everyone just believes it without making their own mind up. Look at the way people slag off Phil and Gary Neville. You don't win as many medals as they have, and will continue to, if you are crap. But plenty of people see a 'joke' and take it as read.

Looking at Utd on Saturday Joe, Tim Howard saved them from dopping points as Soton got behind them with fair ease. Ferdinand is a huge loss to them no doubt. Will be sorely missed in the Summer.

Howard, you mention Howard! He's another one! The tabloids were nailing him when he signed and knew nothing about him! I know might might have been a novelty with his tourettes thing going on but it was just lazy reporting. I'm almost pleased Man yoo have signed a good player!
Ferdinand has been a frustrating player so far. within him he could become a true great of English defenders. An English defender who can carry the ball forward with his had up! BUT you see the errors he made in Stuttgart and you have to wonder how much he can fulfill. Mind you, he's got plenty of time to assess his game now!
