Posted similar a few days ago, and I reckon the best way to get him in the side is playing wing backs (not that we have any).
Sorrenson in goal , Shawcross, Abdy & Huth as a back 3, Lawrence at right wing back and one of Ethrington/Collins or Higgy at left wing back (Don't think any are really suitable, especially Collins after Saturday) with 2 holding midfield players. probably Rory & Whelan (Not Mr Average Whithead) then Tuncay playing in front of them 2 in a free role with two forwards.
In saying that I really don't see TP changing the way he has always played at all. Yeas I have worries we won't get Tunc in the team playing to his full potential.

Undoubtedly you are right George, and it would also mean that we would get the best out of the three excellent centre backs we now have at the club, but as you say, sadly we don't even have, erm ... one.

I think that we should have some faith in TP, Peter Reid & Gerry Francis, I'm sure that between them, they can find a way to maximise the full potential of the type of player we so obviously lacked last season. For me Tuncay is exactly what we need in midfield and will give our attacking play another dimension, defences will no longer simply have to gear up for the long punt upfield. As for him not being able to play with Fuller, I just can't wait to see them combining in attack and causing carnage. I can think of quite a few premiership managers who would love to have the problem of what to do with Tuncay.

Even a year ago, if someone had said Tuncay will pull on the red and white - they would have been carted off

I've been expressing concern about Tuncay since his name was first mentioned as a possible signing. Men with long, greasy hair have never been a success at SCFC.

We've signed a good skilful player from a relegated club, where he had been for a few years and hardly set the world on fire. I posted before about over reaction and asked the question where he would play. As usual the retards appear ordering me not to be negative. Good luck to Tuncay in a Stoke shirt WHEN/IF he gets a game.

Im very worried about tunjay fitting in with us and think he could be this seasons flop. He is probably the most gifted player in our squad but i cant for the life of me see us getting him on the ball in correct areas. we so used to playing one up front witha big man ten yards behind him and hoof. Our fullbacks,so importatnt in the premiership cannot build play and our midfield pretty much the same. For me i would play him at the head of the diamond with Lawrence and Etherington wide to get the best out of him with two forwards further ahead. Play him up front and he will die of service in our team. I hope im wrong but Mr Pulis could make this a guy a expensive flop. made this comment the day you signed him, and was shot down in flames. Very good player, but a million miles from being a typical Stokie

Worry about how he'll fit in 6-10 games down the line and he still is'nt getting a game. For now, just sit back and let him settle in after a busy international period and a hectic late transfer move.
You never know, we might get the best out of Etherington once he's settled in. Definitely a player on the same wavelength.

I'm excited about the Tunch, but do have a nagging concern that we can get the best out of him. I think he may have to go through a period of adjustment to get the "Stoke DNA" in his game and get used to playing in a more regimented way than he played last season. The "what bloody position shall we play him in?" issue is an added concern. Look at Kits (apart from the goals) this season compared to last. He is a different player, and a much more effective one for us. Then again, Tunch might score a brace on Satdee, so what do I know?

I think Saturday (v Chelsea) was the wrong game for Tuncay to come on from the bench. He will be the difference in the games that matter, against the likes of Hull, Wolves, Birmingham, Bolton and the like. I'm not saying he's not able to compete in the games against the big teams, he's never going to be like Faye, Wilko, Whelan and put a foot in where it hurts. He's got flare and this will show this season, I'm sure.

No we haven't signed Messi, but we have signed someone who is a damn sight better than what we had last season when everyone on this site was calling for an attacking midfielder with flair, well now we've got one and it's up to the management team to make it work. Yes there is a possibility that Tuncay may not fit into our pattern of play, but I'm willing to bet that he will prove to be a great signing.

There must be some uncertainty about where he's going to play and how, until he actually makes the starting line-up.
I don't particularly buy this argument about needing to be a Stoke "type" player, though.
Faye isn't, with his regular attempts to dribble around centre-forwards on the edge of his box; Kitson certainly wasn't last year, nor is Etherington yet, when in form, both have looked good for us; Glenn Whelan probably isn't either.
We are direct, we don't play little triangles in the middle of the park, but the days of a team full of Amdy Faye-style characters are gone.
So long as Tuncay has got good work rate and isn't a sulker -which he didn't seem to be for Boro- I'm sure he will fit in just fine.

What we need is a little knock for Fuller, to put him out of the team for a week and let him play Tuncay upfront in his stead. Then such is Tuncay's form, Fuller will have to sit on the bench...
I would rather play Chunkeye instead of Ethers, Matty doesn't seem to be playing with any width this season so we may aswell have Sanli playing in his place and getting the ball and going central. It makes sense as Ethers hasn't been firing this season, and it lets him play either Kits, Beats or Fuller up front.

the way lawrence can deliver the ball the way fuller is one of the best strikers outside top 6, kitsons current form and beatties ability to score out of nothing. and etherington not excactly playing good and giving it away cheaply on too many occasions, left wing it is for now
