My room is freezing. I wish they'd gone by the outdoor temperature and not the calendar (Oct-March) when putting on the heat here ...

Are we going to have to start panic buying bog roll again soon?. If so, Chuff, I shall look forward to wearing the earrings I treated myself to last April when the idiots had their last panic-buying spell. You remember - you, Dees & JD all admired them when I wore them at the last EEFC training session - each earring is a very fine silver chain, hanging down in a loop, with a cute little tiny 1cm loo roll at the bottom of each loop. Très chic! Very fetching they were Murph, but not overly practical. Good job I was bunged up from all the hotdogs Pearo had brought along. Things could have got Messi.

Mrs Q & I hosted a scaryoke evening at home on Satdee evening. Social distancing observed, there were only 6 of us - Mrs Q & I using one microphone, our friends (family of 4) using the other. Until midnight, all songs had to be sung loik a poiritt would. Mrs Q's "Down't Croi Fur May, Arrrrgentoina" was a triumph.

Hmm, I do like Musik's food posts.
Peanut butter butties (crunchy, two rounds), two slices of malt loaf (dry, I forgot to bring butter), roast beef monster munch, twix (single finger), Fry's Turksih delight, can of Tango (full fat), two cups of black coffee.
I think my diet needs working on.

Whole meal bread with proper butter on and cress, of course cress😉. Mustard? Never tried that on egg mayo. I’m surprised my Mrs hasn’t tried it though, she has to have every available sauce on the table and most end up on the plate no matter what the food is😳

At least it used to be called that - I think these days they've started calling it 'salad cress' for some reason. xxx My favourite butties, btw.

Nah I just know it as cress🤷🏻♂️ Favourite sandwich🤔. Now there’s a debate! The egg mayo was a delight, one I haven’t had for ages. Let me see, I like beef or ham with mustard (not the cress), cheese ploughman’s, roast chicken (no sauce or stuffing, just salt) and of course a good old fish finger sandwich!!

Every school trip I ever went on it was either Marmalade sarnies or good old fashioned Tuna. Still partial to a Tuna/mayo combo and very occasionally a crisp sandwich, has to be salt and vinegar crisps though.

ooo favourite butties.
I'll go with crisps, definitely. Or cheesy wotsits.
Tuna & salad cream.
Ham & mustard (today's lunch, with 2 pork pies, a couple of giant gherkins, a wispa, a pot of cherry yoghurt, another can of full-fat tango ***)
The best of all is crunchy peanut butter and honey.
*** that diet still needs sorting out ... as Mrs Q was on a late shift, last night's tea was sausage & runny fried egg butties with brown sauce, followed by 8 profiteroles. I copped it for eating rubbish when she got in.

Haha my “go to” when the Mrs is at work is a tin of stewed steak, chips and 3 x bread and butter. Salted caramel Gu cheesecake for afters. Another favourite sandwich is smokey bacon, Philadelphia, and iceberg lettuce toasted🤷🏻♂️

Pretty impressive, well I thought so. You can't fool us, Chuff - that's an egg yolk you dropped on a block of Bournville chocolate...... What ya makin'? Chocolate mousse or truffles? Either more than acceptable. NB: If the latter, can you please roll my share in toasted desiccated coconut? TA. PS: C'mon, c'mon, c'mon, chop chop - answer the other one!

Haven't had salad cream for yonks, JD, but fancy some now. Where's the shopping list? Yep, a popular regular lunch is baguette with ham & mustard on, with a side of gherkins + some of those teeeeeeeny tomatoes - much smaller than cherry tomatoes and sweet as anything. Deeeee-lish. Had a peanut butter sarnie on wholemeal as a midnight raid last Sunday + cucumber batons & more tomatolets on the side. Mmmmmm!

And what's wholemeal? Does that mean when you've eaten your dinner there's nothing left on the plate?
Shopping lists; now there's a basis for a whole new experience. Let's see what weird & wonderful things are on your shopping lists.
The current Hovel des Quiets list is:
Sausages (Asda's own, slightly spicy) Bacon Eggs
Polish mustard (from the Polish corner shop, the variety with the bumble bee on it meaning not hot at all, not the one with 5 chillis on it ... sorry about that Mrs Q ...) Ham
Several large jars of gherkins (from the Polish corner shop again) Tuna Rice Sweetcorn
Salad Cream Philadelphia cheese Yoghurts
A pork roasting joint Potatoes - Albert Bartlett by preference, they roast really well
Assorted veg (don't really care what veg, it just looks good on the plate. I don't intend to eat it)
Multi-pack of monster munch Pork pies (preferably pork & pickle)
Sardines (for the dog) Doggy treats (to reward him when he pees against the plant pots rather than on the artificial turf) Tap water safe (for doing the fishies' weekly water change) AAA batteries (for the volume control on the amplifier remote control. I'm tired of getting up to change the volume. Exercise isn't good for you)
Coriander seeds (get me, exotic eh?)

Yep, I've fwwdd a copy of that to Anton, and he's phoned back & says the CM list has many of the same. Talk about doing stupid things when it comes to food --- Many, MANY moons ago I wanted to try a new recipe I'd found, and one of the ingredients, which it strongly stressed as essential, was 'whole coriander seeds' but the trouble was that everywhere I tried to buy them all I could find was 'ground coriander' which, in any case, I'd already got in. After a ton of searching I found some, bought them and got everything out ready to make the dish. I went back to read the recipe's instructions, the third or fourth line of which said 'Now finely grind the coriander seeds'. That's when you usually say 'aaaaagggghhhhh'.
