i hope we keep him to be honest, great back up defender to have and a threat in the oppositions box, plus never gives away silly fouls ever!

As long as he's only ever backup and nothing more.

He doesn't give away fouls cause he never goes in for a tackle All he does is blocks and heads

Decent back-up, and he seemed happy enough on the bench and in reserve this year. Useful squad player who works hard and does a steady job. Unlike Sonko. Keep Cort and Higgy.

Blast from the past!
Interesting interview with him here - Stoke section starts about 43:50
Interesting section before that on how much he absolutely detests Warnock

Speak to Leon on facebook and he's a really nice guy. He's actually played down his hatred of warnock quite a bit lol.

Did he say it was the assistant manager that went into the shower to tell Pulis what Beattie had done?

Character isn't he? Good signing for us and moved on at right time. Miles better than Sonko.

That's the best beattie/pulis incident story yet. Made it out like Pulis was some sort of Terminator. Naked, merciless and out to cause harm to Beattie

Loved how he would walk around the back of the opposition keeper at corners and set pieces then in front of him just as the corner or set piece was being taken, his and Ryans goals were absolutely fundamental to our promotion to the premier league. Gouranga.

Good interview actually, insights into the journey of Football League player. He's very communicative and open about the whole experience.

Sounds like O’Connor that grassed Beattie up🤔 Also will never forget Cort’s performance in the 0-0 at Liverpool absolutely outstanding body on the line

A good interview. It's a shame the Doobs one didn't go into his time at Stoke. It could've been interesting hearing about the time under Boskamp and Pulis leaving and returning.

Can't believe they went all the way to Manchester to celebrate on Promotion night. They missed a belting night in Longton.

One of my favourite defenders in my younger years.

Scored some vital goals in our promotion season but as a defender I much preferred Clint Hill (who we part exchanged him for)
By the way, if you want to see real hatred for Warnock, read Stan Ternents autobiography, he can't stand him!

Very funny insight into his time at Stoke- pisser.
I would be old SKOOL like Pulis if I was manager and the players didnt put in a performance.
I dont know how some of the managers remain calm to be honest.

Can we stop with the trend of reviving long dead threads to discuss related developments? It makes it hard to find what’s new and interesting, especially when the original thread was many pages long.

That was brill listening about Pulis. Did he say it was the assistant manager that went into the shower to tell Pulis what Beattie had done? Kempy! Peter Reid at that time. Kempy would have a hard time telling him about it while scouting Diego Arismendi He had a crazy record of something like nine seasons without a booking, right up until we had a complete nutter referee one of our preseason games on tour in Austria. I think he managed to book most players on the pitch for something.
