Who would you honestly rather have?
For me, ledley is a great player and a very good prospect, but if he's going to cost more than £7 million I'd rather have Etherington for a third of the price. He's been a great signing for us so far.

Etherington was exactly what we needed at the time, Ledley was / is not.

Etherington EVERY single time... even if they were available at the same price i'd go for Matty.... he's been excellent for us so far. He's a proven talent in the Premiership...
A ledge!

proven prem player who prefers to play left mid, for 2mil or unproven championship player who prefers to play in the center for treble the money, i think TP got it bang on!!

Ledley is more of a central midfielder and only an occasional winger. So you can't compare the two. If you said Whelan or Ledley then I suspect Ledley is the better player but at the price we paid Whelan is better value.

Ethers every single time. What a joy it is to see a natural left winger in the red and white. Its been a while.
GOARN MATTY!!

Etherington hands down, every time I've watched Ledley play I've not been impressed.

Another for Matty. Watched Ledley twice in recent weeks, albeit on tv playing for Wales against Finland and for Cardiff against Swansea and he has not impressed me at all.Certainly not worth £7 million.

When you bring the money issue into it, it has to be Matty.

I think it's more of a case of Ledley or O'Neil or Huddleston or Similar for the future.

A proven Premiership player or an average Championship player. It is no competition really.

WE've got Ethers so why not go and sign Ledley just as back up!

Ledley is a good player & is very young - he's only going to get better.
hopefully we will see even more from Ethers next season when he's that bit fitter & more confident too.
Huddleston is a good shout as there has to be at least one deal between HR & TP reeally doesnt there? has weight issues mind.

Etherington definately, he is what we were crying out for, a tricky left winger with pace and a decent cross. Him and Lenny are the perfect combination.
As for Ledley, well, yeah, sure I'd like to see him come in, but he pissed us around for too long I am passed caring about him now, if he comes, fair enough, if not, well then I wont cry about it. We have some real quality in our squad.

I dont know tbh, I dont go around on here like other people do spouting crap that "Ledley is at the Brit".
However, I did hear constant ramblings that an offer was accepted by Cardiff but Ledley was apparently waiting for better offers. Thats what I heard. Not fact.

Personally I'd forget about Ledley. Anyone who is that disinterested in coming to Stoke can F*** off in my book.
However, was I the only one frustrated by Ethers' reluctance to go past the Baggies full backs and get a cross in?

If Caridiff dont go up and Stoke stay up Ledley will be a Stoke player 100%
I will take that too, Ledley is a centre mid anyway so no need to compare...

Not wanting to go over old ground again but a deal was agreed but Ledley advised by his agent held out for a "bigger" club I heard an interview with ledley after the transfer window and Ledley sounded gutted that the move didn't come off and he mentioned more than once that he wanted to go to Stoke. And this was on local radio in Cardiff!

bollocks, I am sorry but the Ledley situation in quite staight forward:
1 the lad loves Cardiff his boyhood team - Cardiff
2 the lad wants to better himself and play in the Prem
3 this season Cardiff have a good chance of getting in the Prem
4 Risdale is a thick cunt a was willing to turn down 6 million to keep Ledley and help push for the Prem
5 Ledley will give it this season to get in the prem with Cardiff, if not he will move to the Prem and Stoke more than lightly
6 Tony Pulis lives in his atic and wont let him out of his sight
7 Joe Ledley is not a cunt and would love to come to Stoke (prob will), but would also like the chance of fullfilling his boyhood dream and going up with Cardiff (prob wont)
8 Cardiff are thick cunts

Etherington, we needed a pacy winger who could take players on and win freekicks.. Lawerence is better than Ledley but they are very similar players.
