...HAS to play and line up if fit home and away and we can finish in the top half and im being serious.Liam Ethers on the flanks and Rory and Glenn central midfield is a great partnership and gives the overall look to the midfield of Pace,Skill,Ability,Work rate and potential of goals is what we have all been waiting for, then with Beattie and Fuller up top thats a very good team.
Forget Diao now we have and should move on from him and this crap that we can't cope without Mama ffs thats an insult to those players who come in play out of there skin.
The passion and committment from the players and fans will just continue to drive us on and help build and stabalise us as a premiership team for years to come.
Fantastic day fantastic result well done everybody.
COME ON STOKE ;D

stokiemama thanks.
Jamo ive been crying out for this team for weeks like so many of us have and finally it has come together nicely and lets continue with it and see where it takes us.
Muttyrolls The manager gets credit when its due from me like i have plenty of times given him this season and also he has DESERVED criticsm like any other manager has aswell and the same will happen next year, all i ever have wanted is honesty and him to play the right players in the correct positions like today and we get the results like today...Amazing eh!!! does that make me part of the success story today then?

That was the most balanced side we've started with all season ... just wish it had been used a little bit earlier, but at least he's got there in the end.

We've all been thinking for a long time that that's our strongest eleven. I suppose the manager could get away with saying that Etherington hasn't been fit these last few games (he got himself injured in his come back from suspension didn't he?) and that's why he hasn't been able to put that side out. So many times this season I've felt beaten before kick-off having heard the line-up (Bolton, Blackburn etc), today you knew it was our strongest XI.
I suspect that the manager will have some qualms about the defensive cover offered by the central midfielders. They covered well on the halfway line, but when dropping deep they didn't give the same coverage as (it pains me to say) Diao and Faye. I suppose that's inevitable when you consider that they don't move from the edge of the box though. The manager might not like that, it gives the opposition an extra route in and the opportunity for long shots. If he does make a change then it'll be Whelan, the weak link in the midfield today. Too inconsistent, one good ball, one bad ball. One good tackle, one missed tackle. All the time. Damn frustrating that he could find a decent ball to start a counter attack but was getting the simple stuff wrong.
Having said that, I'd start that midfield against Newcastle and give it a run for a few games.

He needs to be playing or at least be on as sub but Pulis had to bring his gay-boy on Cresswank again before him.

I didn't think Whelan had his best game yesterday either. He was slow to close down when the opposition were running at our back four and he lost a lot of straightforward challenges in midfield.
Nevertheless, this is our best 11 and TP can work on Whelan's discipline when we don't have the ball.
Whelan's block near the end typified his effort and he and Rory had much more creativity than Diao/Amdy.
As for Camara, the sooner he is turfed out of our club the better.

Whelan ain't a weak link at all, don't talk wet

I think the point that MD is making is that we were uncharacteristically weak when the opposition midfield were running at our back four. Amdy and Diao specialise in blocking those runs, but they do not give as much offensively as Rory and Whelan.
I have to say that I was also frustrated by some of Whelan's passing and tackling yesterday. MD is quite right that Whelan had a good pass followed by a bad pass all afternoon.
Yesterday is our best team without doubt and every player played an important part. That doesn't mean that TP doesn't have a few things to work on in training this week.

He needs to be playing or at least be on as sub but Pulis had to bring his gay-boy on Cresswank again before him. Cresswell played well when he came on yesterday jarhead,of that you cannot argue if you were there! He has got more running in him and will work for the team which imo camara wouldnt! Camara is back-up incase fuller or beattie get injured nothing more nothing less, and imo will be gone at end of season!

This is the team that should have been playing some time ago. Both Delap and Whelan can defend and close down just as good as Diao and Faye but they offer so much more going forward.
The weakest part of that team now is Higgy at left back. Played ok though yesterday but Wilkinson looks far more settled at right back. Higgy is playing out of position so doing well considering.
The back line looks more solid the midfield looks like they can play and hold the ball up better and the two forwards are both class players.
It has taken Pulis a long time to hit on this team (too long) but credit yesterday for putting out the team he did. You know it makes sense for so many reasons Pulis, please continue with this side.
