... in the Premiership, must of learnt a fair bit I would imagine? will it change his transfer target thinking if we do stay up, will we see TP go after a different type of player to use in away matches as we look to get some points on our travels i.e) quick pacey counter attacking players?
Are we expecting a change in tactics away from home next season should we stay up?

As you say F.B.S, the one thing I hope Tone learns is to be more adventurous away from home.
Seriously, what have we got to lose - the 4 points we've got so far?

I think we also need to look at getting a more adventurous left back, as much as I love Danny Higginbottom passio and never-say-die attitude I believe he should be acting cover for Ryan and Ab so a leftback can help Matty by getting down the wings to put more crosses in for Beattie to stick his head on

4 points is not a brilliant return for the fans that have spent the wedge is it. obviously relied on our homeform this season to keep us up and bought the players to match the size of the pitch etc etc then we have struggled to get to grips with the bigger pitches away from home.
maybe we've been playing so defensive and keeping it tight away from home so we dont get a hammering that will effect the players confidence in the following home fixture?..... and overall nobody can say its not working.

We need another striker to play alongside Beattie.
Nicky Shorey would be useful as well, whilst you're at it.
Time to cut the apron strings of Salif Diao, Richard Cresswell, Leon Cort as well as saying bye to Dave Kitson & Tom Soares, and thanks but no thanks to Henri Camara.
Buy better, scout better, don't make "2000 phone calls" then never play them and in general take the huge positives form this year (should we stay up) and do what you always do TP...make us slightly better year by year.

Probably best not to even try asking Arsene Wenger for any more favours over loan players

Probably best not to even try asking Arsene Wenger for any more favours over loan players I don't know, if he can do business with Fergie and Jose (after he called him a voyeur) he can with us surely?

Hopefully he has learned that we need a lot more quality in the centre of the park and we need to keep possession of the ball a lot better.

His best lesson is that he's learned to tap into the seige mentality of the fans and he's milking it to the full. For that, he deserves a pat on the back.

R.E. our away tactics, is it a coincidence that Aston Villa have won more games away from home than they have at home?
no imo, home teams are expected to attack at home, the thing is that Aston Villa have the correct type of player to play an effective counter attacking game, they use Ashley Young & Gabby Agbonlahor to great effect, they also have a solid centrel midfield.
Yes, we cannot afford to go out and spend the type of money to bring in the readymade premiership quality of Young, Agbonlahor and Barry, but there will be alternatives available in the transfer window either here or abroad, these are the type of players we need to be looking for in the transfer window imo, players that have the same sort of qualities. Afterall they got Young from the championship, its really not an impossible task to find the correct players in the same sort of mould as those above if you search hard enough.
For all we know this Rudolph Austin could turn out to be the next Gareth Barry.
IMO TP could do far worse than get some DVDs of the Aston Villa away matches and have a good watch before the transfer window opens, because lets face it that tactic of fast counter attacking football what A Villa play away from home is really effective, and thats for A Villa, now, just imagine that we managed to sort of replicate our style away from home to theirs - it could be really effective for us as home teams and supporters will be expecting to beat Stoke City at home so will attack us, but if we have simalar style players to A Villa's and played with he same sort of style, it could be a massive advantage as we catch them on the beak. If we can get the right type of players in to do half as well away from home next season as they have done this season, plus keep our home a 'Fortress' we will be onto a winner.

Are we expecting a change in tactics away from home next season should we stay up? He has got a good squad but needs o improve it if we are to get more away points and he also needs to be more confidence in the ability of his own players who have proved that they will play for him and give 100% for the cause. Next season could be hard...but not as hard as a season in the Championship would be.

I am sure he has learned that possession of the ball will actually help defensively as much as in attack, and that it's hard to defend for 90 mins away from home vs quality Premiership teams and players. I am sure he has also learned that a different class of player is required if this kind of play is to be achieved and will shop accordingly. I am sure we will still be big and strong (no problem there) but will have more pace and quality in each area of the park.
We still have to stay up yet though (although I am quietly confident that we can)!
Go down and it's Soares & Tonge somewhere in midfield and Leon and Sonko at center back!

I think that he has probably learned that:
You can please some of the people all of the time
You can please all of the people some of the time
But you can never,
Please all of the people all of the time.
Not trying to be a 'smart arse' but it's no easy business this Premier League Management stuff but I bet he's loving it all the same.

If the question was can you re-quote word for word some old Abraham Lincoln quote then of course you would have been correct

Pulis will make signings that are better than what we have, its not rocket science. Sometimes he gets it wrong but more often than not it will improve the side.
We wasted a number of games this season getting used to the prem and pretty much being in transition.
Next season if we stay up thats got to be worth 6-7 points and the better players will hopefully see us finishing mid table.
Im getting the words counting and chickens by the way! (these int breaks eh!!!)

Hopefully he has learned that we need a lot more quality in the centre of the park and we need to keep possession of the ball a lot better. Can't disagree with that. Some of our players look absolutely terrified when they're on the ball and are desperate to just get rid of it as soon as possible.

I think he will have realise that more quality is needed, but not sure how much his tactics will change.
