Maybe we're just protecting Camara in light of Mama's potentially serious injury?
Isn't the geeral rule that you can't recall a player that you've received a loan fee for, at any stage of the loan period?

Does this mean that if Ric is still feeling his shoulder that Cresswell could actually start again for us this season?

Knowles has just texted me confirming it is Mama who is injured, but does not know how bad at the moment.

He would have been daft to play Camara if Mama got injured in the warm up. Let's hope Mama's injury is not as bad as feared.

Parton is a good mate of mine and tbh, a very good future prospect. Played against him on friday actually although he played outfield. Will be brilliant in future though so look out for him....only 16

Unsurprisingly, the match was completely over shadowed by Mama's injury, but the silver lining was that Louis Moult and Nat Wedderburn were given a chance from the start. Surely that is part of what reserve team football is about? To integrate the youngsters with the seniors. We have a decent batch of academy players at the moment but they aren't being given a chance with the bigger boys. If they continue to play with the same players then they will just turn stagnant. The team we put out last night was very strong (even without Mama and Camara) but, once again, it was a very poor performance. Dicko was probably the pick of a poor bunch. Sonko stupidly flew in for a tackle on Bouma in the lead up to their goal. The Dutchman whistled past him, pulled it back, and James Collins fired in a clinical strike. Cort tried twice to score own goals but was unlucky both times while Villa hit the post on two occassions! Tonge was quiet again while Olofinjana, according to Pugh, picked up an injury (although I didn't see it). Davies' midfield role completely backfired- he appeared unfit and lost. All in all, just like last week, a complete wasted event. We have now picked up crucial injuries in meaningless reserve games (I know Mama's was in the warm up). It's a catch 22 situation. These players need game time but equally, we need to bring on the youngsters. Last week Nat, who is our most prized asset from the academy, was sitting in the stands. What use is that? Fingers crossed for a speedy recovery Mr Sidibe Apart from a Moult shot, these are about our only two chances of the match:

Leaving Camara out wasn't a careful measure in light of Mama's injury - he was never at Villa Park in the first place!
