Lawrenson: "You talk about teams booing their own players - never at Stoke" No Lawro, we just all cheer ironically when one gets substitued! ;D there was nothing ironic about it, it was 20,000 stokies cheering that Pulis was thinking EXACTLY what they were

On the road to Premiership survival they suddenly see the light? Nah,the pundits and producers of MOTD have had to eat humble pie....trying not to look like pricks, with the possibility that their 'expert' opinions were useless.
It was their indirect apology for the scorn and cynical dismissal meted out to SCFC for having the temerity to call themselves Premiership outfit and blighting MOTD with our presence.

To be fair have become a Prem snob myself and the CCC can get on with itself. Partly to do with the fact I'm not paying 1000 UK for a dish to watch it. :-)
Of course they doubted us but at least they now admit we are good enough and maybe here to stay.
How many thought we couldn't compete-own up?

Anyone fancy spelling the arrogant scotsmans name right?
Saw BBC's round up on BBC World over here today, three ex Stoke-on-trent players on the panel, Mark Bright, Garth Crooks and Lee Dixon. Not one of em had a good word for us and Bright had the closest to a Stoke accent.

Yes he did say that,
Lawro is a 2 faced twat, trying to get on our side ready for the inevitable onslaught of abuse if we stay up

'Saw BBC's round up on BBC World over here today, three ex Stoke-on-trent players on the panel, Mark Bright, Garth Crooks and Lee Dixon. Not one of em had a good word for us and Bright had the closest to a Stoke accent.' Possibly because Mark Bright is a Valeite. Lee Dixon's not from Stoke (Lancashire, I think). Crooks' accent has been debated enough on this noble organ (even though I think he does actually still have a Stoke accent). But I've never subscribed to the MOTD anti-Stoke stuff. Hansen, Shearer and Lawro have all said positive things about us at various times; in fact, Lawro made numerous predictions that we would stay up, right from the start. There's a lot of paranoia around . Oh, and - after all - we did actually play absolute tosh. A team that actually had a cutting edge would have torn us apart yesterday. Any neutral observer - or employee of the BBC paid to be neutral - would have to say that.

Agreed, Linx. Hansen, especially, was saying after the Villa home game back in August, that "Stoke play to their strengths" and was praising us for doing so.
When we have a bad game and lose they are right to criticise, that is their job. By the same token most of the MOTD panelists have given credit where credit is due when we have put in a decent performance including the gritty draws against the likes of Liverpool.

Lawro predicted us to lose, and only Phil thompson on Sky predicted us to win, Mcinally and Merson had us to lose and Nicholas sat on the fence

We will always be favourites to lose because, compared to most other squads, ours is cheaply assembled and we lack expereince at this level. On paper, Middlesborough should have beaten us yesterday. Luckily, football is played on grass and it only takes a goal to win a game.

Isn't it strange how the meeja's opnion of the managers of the three promoted clubs has changed over the season. I'm sure I'm not the only one to think that at the start of the season, Brown and Mowbray were the darlings of the "meeja" but for a whole load of reasons, TP seems to have overtaken them both - and a few other Premiership managers as well. ;D

I think with Hansen in particular he sees Stoke as something fresh and going back to the days when he played where challenges were hard and committed. He seems fed up with the histrionics of the modern game and it was either him or Lawro who said Stoke just get on with it and don't complain.

When Hansen said "Stoke just get on with it and don't complain" it did cross my mind that he might be referring to Tango Man's little outburst this week.

I hate myself for it - but it does feel good to hear praise on MOTD, even if there is an element of back pedalling to it.

'We don't complain - just get on with it'
This has to be a reference to TP who rarely complains - even when we've had a bad deal
TP knows that complaints make no difference and just gets on with the job - big credit to him compared to the bulk of managers - makes a refreshing change for the pundits too
