Just heard some tragic news that David was the bloke who collapsed and died at the end of the Stafford Marathon, I did not know him that well but had always seen him at Stoke games , gigs and in plenty of pubs and he was a top bloke who lived his life to the full , was a committed runner and according to the Sentinel had just run a personal best.
Thoughts and prayers go to his family , I'm sure his passing will be a great loss.

David was a neighbour of mine and I was devastated this morning when I was told about the sad news, I will miss our football chats. He was a very special person and often amazed me with how he could run up the bank we live on when most people are out of breath walking up the bank.

A lot of us are going to miss Dave, whether it's in the pub, at a gig or at the match. Or just speedwalking up the London Road. One of those blokes who was far, far nicer than anyone really needs to be. Glad he went out doing something he loved.

I have worked with Dave for the past 21 years and been out drinking with him every week in that period.Dave was a fantastic runner, ,real ale fan, foody ,and best of all a TRUE Stoke fan who never seemed to criticicise anybody or anything connected with the club. I along with many others will miss Browneyes terribly and his passing will leave a huge hole in our lives. Browneyes you were a GREAT bloke.
