The most expensive team ever assembled by a Stoke manager and 1 win in 8 matches that along with the most expensive defence in Stoke’s history and only 1 clean sheet in 10 matches. Add this to us only managing more than 1 goal once in our last 6 matches makes a recipe for failure. These are facts not something I’ve just made up, check them out for yourself even whilst wearing your rose coloured specs.

It's also a fact that we're fourth in the league and that was only our third away defeat of the season and our first league defeat in 13 games.

Which of our recent league results, in the last 13 games, apart from Hull at home and tonight, would you say were bad results?

Oh I see the FA cup match against Newcastle doesn't count in your opinion then does it?

Not with it not being in the league, no.
Still, forcing a replay with a mega-bucks Premier League side, after being unlucky not to win the first game, isn't too much to be ashamed of.
Now answer the question - which of the league games apart from Hull and tonight were not good results?

"Still, forcing a replay with a mega-bucks Premier League side, after being unlucky not to win the first game, isn't too much to be ashamed of." But getting hammered 4-1 against 10 men is. The Watford, Norwich and Preston performances although not on the face of it were bad results the perfomances were poor, we played poormans football and got away with it.

Mmmmm....a fan of West Brom's football, definitely. But I'm a fan of our club. So work that one out. It will probably take you some time.

Thanks sanford, I do have a father and I'm far from misguided, in fact I'm very clear in my opinions of Pulisball and what is going on at Stoke

There's a difference between bad results and bad performances. 7 points from three games (the ones you mention) are not bad results are they?
I don't think the Watford game (which we could have won on another day) or the Preston game (which we dominated and actually played far less "Pulisball" in Mama's absence) were bad performances either.

Credit to Pulis for getting us up to fourth, but without a creative midfield player and a partner for Fuller we won't go up. He has had enough time to solve this, and hasn't, so must shoulder the blame. And anyone who enjoyed the Watford game (RVD?) must be a masochist. I'd rather us finish 12th playing attractive football than lose in the play-offs playing ugly pulisball.

I thought Watford was a decent performance. It was a Christ ugly game, but we were under-strength and matched them easily.
I like to be entertained, but winning is more important. While at times it hasn't been pretty this season, there have been plenty of entertaining games, the fact that we're among the top scorers in the division bears this out.

I do attend and have done for many years. I just think that the manager's one dimensional style of football is restricting our chances of making that final and discouraging more floating supporters from coming to watch.

Success is what attracts crowds though, not pretty football - if we were mid-table but playing like Brazil every week, do you really think we'd get bigger crowds than we do now?

look at that season under boskamp, people said we played good football but we had home deafets such as
0-3 Cardiff 1-3 Wolves 0-3 Hull (where I left after 65 minutes it was so shockingly bad) 1-3 Crystal Palace
you saying you want to go back to the days of that?

When is going to strengthen the squad then? Signing up players we already have is great but its midfield with new ideas and pace thats required ffs! But lets not worry Pulis did the same last season and fucked a season up by not getting in the right quality, instead its Parkin on here Pericard there and god for fuckin bid Misibe is back and no doubt back into the team to basically defend from the front and do fuck all else!!! Oh great, but lets all fall the Pulis 'spin' that it was another promissing season but i let you all down...Again! So everyone please get a season ticket blah blah blah

Football management isnt as easy as everyone seems to think though, if u want a player, you can't just get him like that! Bids need to be accepted then there's personal terms which can usually drag on for ages and maybe break down, especially if you include agents sticking there nose in trying to make sure they can make a sizeable amount out of any deal.
Be patient and stick by TP, and he'll bring in good players that will get us into the top 6.... maybe even higher

I totally agree that winning games gives promotion, and getting draws (especially when the opposition win a proportionally higher number of games ) is a recipe for stagnation..and putting our fate into our opponents hands.

RVD. I can name around a dozen who used to attend say 10 games a season who don't go because of the football on offer. How many can that figure be multiplied by? Also, TP's style may have short term benefits but our growing reputation for basic football nationally is a PR disaster and bad for the club in the long run.

Is it though Growler? When have Stoke, in the last 20 years, ever played "carpet football"? Gates have never been astronomical - and people always find excuses not to go. One minute it's "I'm not going while Coates and Humphries are here", the next it's "I'm not setting foot inside that new stadium", there's always a convenient excuse.
Who exactly is playing this mythical "beautiful game" in the English leagues? I can think of Man Yoo, Arsenal, Spurs, West Brom, and then I'm struggling.
I'll say again, for a team supposedly playing dire, defensive stuff, we don't half score some goals.

And what has it got to do with Boskamp? Are you really saying if you don't like one you have to like the other because that is nonsense. Are they the only two managers around?
