If I was Roman Abramovic I'd get on the blower and offer about £10m to Randy Lerner for MON. No better club manager outside Fergie than him IMO.

The price of failure, eh. Football gets madder and madder - Chelski are 4th ... 7 points off the top of the league = FAIL Who next for the hot seat down in London? Lots of talk about Zola ... but surely he doesn't have the experience (yet)? And he'd be a bit mad to take it to be honest ... It will become as poisoned as the chalice up in Geordie land, if they aren't careful - Which high profile manager is going to risk it next? (Though the pay-off, for 7 months work, will be damn good) Good McNulty BBC Blog on the sackingah

a 7 million pound payoff, fuck me, its now in the interest of managers to under perform, get sacked, get paid off then move on to his next post - fucking laughable. hope the russki gets bored with spunkin his money away on over rated, over aged drama queens like ballack, terry, lampost, drogba et al and decides to pull the plug. seriously the most over rated league in the world.

Ridiculous, how can anyone expect to build a team with only half a season in charge? Abramovich is turning Chelsea in to a joke.

The Chelsea job is becoming farcical. Bobby Charlton said that the reason they won't sustain success was the lack of stability and continually chopping and changing the manager helps nobody. He had a good point.
The most poignant angle on Scolari's departure is it provides proof that you can't just go out and buy a successful heritage. It has to be built over a period of years.

MARTIN 'O' NEIL best man for the Chelsea job by a country mile IMO,
Abramovich wants shafting if he doesnt get him in as the next boss.
If M O N was named as the next boss of Chelsea, Fergie, Winger, Benitez and Manchester City would be shitting bricks, imo fergie will have met his match and he would retire well he was still ahead.
Hiddink would be good until the end of the season, cant see MON leaving villa until the seasons out.

i reckon he may do, with money to spend and the players allready at Chelsea, i dont think he'd refuse it. he'd like the chance to dominate europe and the premiership. Even if they sacked him, a manager with his C.V would still walk into any top job imo.

M o N - why would he want to...........not money motivated because with chelsea he would have the chance to win the champions league and premiership, despite how well villa are doing, they are not going to win major honours are they? they dont have the squad depth of real quality.

Chelsea is a poisoned chalice IMO. Managers don't get much time there. Mourinho, Grant and Scolari all sacked for not much really. Abramovich is much tighter with the purse strings now than he was with Jose. Lerner has been incredibly supportive of O'Neill at Villa, doesn't hog the limelight, lets him get on with it - they've actually spent a lot of money - O'Neill would be insane to go, especially since when Fergie goes he'll almost certainly be favourite.
