If Lawrence replaces him and can recapture anything like the form of last season, then it may well be a pivotal moment in our survival

Personally not a great deal. Strangely I think it will help us and confuse opposition as we will have to change our game plan. As long as it doesnt involve Cressy!!

Unfortunately, I don't think Pulis will start him, especially away from home and his loyal little bumboy Cresswell will probably get the nod over Lawrence. Obviously, I hope Lawrence starts instead of Cresswell as I just don't understand what Cressie brings to the team tbh

not much, we havent scored from his throws since arsenal (?) and i think Lawrence will add more of a threat going forward than Rory.

I think if Lawrence comes in it will take him a game or two to find his feet to be honest. I want him to play but I don't think we'll get much out of him.

Of all the players we could have suspended, personally, i'd rather it be him than a lot of others we have

Well, he hasn't been on his game of late and we haven't scored from a throw-in for three months, so it's probably fair to say that we're hardly up the proverbial creek.
Having said that, when fully fit and on form, he's a very useful member of the team and his throw-ins are a potent weapon.

We will miss the thrill of the throws but no, other than that, other players to come in are just as good.

I think we'll be alright, with the arrival of Beattie, Matty and Camara...as well as Fuller coming back from suspension we have people who can create and score goals. Add to that Lawrence and I think we wont miss Delap. Mama is back for Portsmouth as well so things are looking good.

i think he will be a big loss, ive never been his biggest fan but just lately i think hes done well, and the goal at chelsea was simply class. ok we aint scored of his throws lately but it still causes mayhem, defenders hate defending it, and you ask any team in the prem they rather he wasnt playing. however, if liam comes back as good as we know he can be, then it could well be a big moment in our season, a fit liam lawrence is priceless to us. but............. if pulis plays cressy then he really can go and fuck off for me im afraid

I think he has played worse after his shoulder injury (Although he has been improving).

We'll miss delaps work rate and tracking back imo. Bring lawrence back into the team against his old club and he will be extra fired up for it. Should be a cracker and I can't wait

Is there enough time for Lawrence to learn how to produce a long throw?

I think we'll cope, tbh I'd prefer see Rory in the middle of the park with Whelan now Lawrence is back...but that aint gonna happen..is it? Nah

Coming up to Christmas when he shouldn't have been playing at all through injury tbh we'd have been better off without, but now I think we'll miss more than just his throws. Having said that though he's not one of our vital spine players like Soro and Ab Faye so we'll be fine I reckon.

Rory's done extremely well for us this season but in the last few games he's looked a bit jaded, it could give him the rest he deserves

Regardless of the fact that we have not scored from a Rory throw for quite some time, I think he will still be missed. The fear of giving away throw ins around the edge of their own area must add pressure to opposition defences and just the threat created by Rory gives us a psychological edge. Having said that, I think we have far more to our game than just the long throw and Saturday will be a good chance to prove it.
Tony should invite Liam to take a look at Sunderlands message board and see what the Mackem's think of him before handing him a starting place on the right and telling him to just go out and ram their opinions straight back down their fucking throats.
