the first signs of discontent being expressed - players on the bench names being chanted and loud groaning and that.
I'm no fan of Pulis, but I take no pleasure when the crowd turns like that during a game.
Let's hope we get well in front and it doesn't happen.

I doubt it tbh.
The negative posters on here are in a majority but as HG found out a dozen people typing negative stuff on here will be washed away with 24,000 fans urging them on to victory.
I think the very great majority realise every single game for us is a cup final and every single game is very difficult and the only hope is we survive by pulling together

Honestly what were people expecting out of January??
We have had 4 really tough games i think we just have to put them behind us and i think the fight for religation starts at sunderland.
Keep the faith

Hes got his retaliation in first We really need the fans in every game weks ago A really tough January but no mention of Dec or Nov
frankly he had had his unstinting support and his miles of endeavour and hard labour, from me if the team is picked with the best players in their right positions and positive outlook and they start at a quick tempo they will get the support ,
If its Creswell , no Fuller ( because we are being careful) and Lawrence and Kitson after all they are the richest club in th world, and they start slowly the daft twat deserves all that comes his way, and he can console himself with the very lucrative salary he can count on the miles back to Bournmeouth which is more than i counted last night

I'll be there happy clapping along with my rose tinted specs on thinking just how grateful I should be to Peter Coates and Tony Pulis. I will squeal with delight when Higgy launches another hoof in the general direction of Richard Cresswell. Ah good old Cressy, picked again by everyones favorite manager. I can't go on, i'm welling up....

The last twenty odd years have been like a heavenly experience the delights of going to Torquay York Exeter Macclesfield Darlington Hartlepool Colchester Crewe Bury Oxford etc NOT for cup games but to play on equal terms and often starting as second favourites. Remembering the excitement of getting |a Prem team at home in the cup (Everton Newcastle etc) and being proud of them despite the inevitable defeats! Maybe you weren't a Stoke fan back then? Some of us realise we've come a hell of a long way in a hell of a short time! Maybe you only started 'following Stoke this August in which case I can fully understand your rather simple outlook

FYI I started supporting Stoke properly in the late seventies, but my first match was when I was 7 in 1974. Believe me mate I've seen some shite. Come a long way in a short space - rubbish. We have come a long way but it's taken us 23 years.

The last time I went there for a league game we won (Gleghorn last minute) this year I reckon the players were given the choice:- win and back to work on Monday. Lose and holiday in Dubai!!

WHAT THE FUCK!
We are playing Man City in the Premiership! I am 32 and never thought i would see us in the top flight but we are there - and there on merit!
We aren't making fools of ourselves like Derby did and there is still a HUGE chance of us staying up!
Why the fuck are people going to Boo on Saturday? If we dont play and are 0-4 down at half-time then still get behind the lads - its our season in the sun for fucks sake!
You all moan about Creswell! Why? Put on the shirt and play/run/tackle more than he does then you can have your opinion - otherwise fuck off!
I dont particulary agree with TP's tactics half the time but i am a SUPPORTER - i am not a manager - he is doing the best he can with the squad he's got - if you can do a better job then why aren't you?
Rant over - sorry gonna watch the footie now and maybe beat the wife ;-)

RE Come a long way in a short space - rubbish. We have come a long way but it's taken us 23 years.
You're wrong we were going nowhere or backwards for almost all of them 23 years due to bad management bad leadership (at the very top) and bad players.
The TP -PC annexe only started to flourish a couple of years ago (about the time of signing Lee Hendrie) until then our sole ambitions was to avoid relegation!
The last two or three years have been a massive upward surge and we have overtaken many clubs in that time which had established themselves as far bigger and better than us.

it was cold that day, Gleggy dipping header, police horses with red antlers on, open terrace, atmosphere going into the open air, frozen to the core...........still we won ! thats why I was saying don't be picking on Hartlepool, great away day that was.
Was the players putting their feet up for the first half last night also part of the holiday package you mention?

Translation...
I hope that we make a bad start - the crowd gets upset and with a bit of luck start calling for the managers head
What a shame that on Saturday the stadium will, in the main, be full of fans who will be cheering and willing the team on - hopefully to victory

I'll be glad when this window slams shut and we have our players, then we can get on with winning games.
There was only me saying it at the time when just before the window opened Tone started to play players that previously hadn't even got near the bench. I said it was Tone trying to get his message to PC that players are needed. A few managers have come out lately and said things along the same lines. Tone also said that of Harry yesterday, saying that he always knows how to get his point across to his chairman by playing players and making out he's desperate. no one would have it at the time when i said it. Tone has always done it since he's been at the club in whatever division. Prior to the window we always go on a dodgy spell with strange choices made re. team selection.
Also, the more we need points the better i think we'll get 'cause as much as Tone frustrates us with some games, when we need a result we don't half give it a good go late on in the season. I think we'll see the true stoke side and formation when this bloody window slams shut!

Being in the best, most watched league in the world is hardly a nightmare is it?
Yes, its obvious that something isn't working with the way we set up away from home, it does seem that Tone is living up to his reputation as a stubborn manager with his persistence with certain players and it is indeed true that we could be in trouble if something isn't done to halt the slump...
But until we're back playing at places like Gigg Lane, Blundell Park etc I shall stop short of referring to this season as a nightmare...
Perspective folks, Perspective

Dont think there will be a negative atmosphere. Fans have been brilliant this season in every game, home and away, and probably the first time we've heard Tony Pulis songs.
Most people realise its a tough job and we need all the support we get.
