i kno he wasnt the best keeper, but Mark Prudoe was the first keeper i ever saw playing for stoke. he give us a few heart attacks but he was my favourite player.

On a lower level to the great Gordon, I'm putting in a word for Bill Robertson and Jimmy O'Neill. Apart from Banksy, it's difficult to compare keepers/players from different eras. Especially so with keepers as it depends on the quality of the defence he had in front of him, the quality of opposing forwards and which League they were playig in.

In my time I think I'd go with
1. Peter Fox (Cracking keeper and 15 years of service to the club!) 2. Sorenson (Immense so far this season when I was pretty unsure at first) 3. Crossley (For a player with us for such a short time he did so much in keeping us up!)
Banks is without doubt the one of the greatest goalkeepers ever, for me he's up there with Yashin, Zoff, Preud'homme, Hans van Breukelen, Schmeichel, Buffon...I could add a few more Banks for me was a true legend.

Statistically no, but a lot of the goals he has conceded have been out of his control, but I think so definatley the best in my lifetime

Banks Fox Sorrenson (if he gives more performances and a few more seasons of loyalty then he could come 2nd)
Foxy was just immense, 15 years loyal service. I was so pleased when he played at Wembley and then got the allocated number of games to get a league winners medal in 93. If he had not got a back injury he could have played for England.
4th choice Ian Cranson v Oldham superb one handed save

We've had quite a few good keepers some of them Internationals.
Harry Gregg, Tommy Younger, Joe Corrigan, Lawrie Leslie, The greatest Gordon Banks, Peter Shilton, Bruce Grobbelaar to name a few.
I also think Dennis Herod, Bill Robertson, Wilf Hall, Jimmy O'Neil, Peter Fox and Ronnie Sinclairare also worthy of mention

I think Simmo is wank to be fair, Carlo Nash was better than him last year, and he simply can't command his area, which isn't good enough at this level. Sorro fills me full of confidence when we concede a corner and is a very good keeper.

Well in my 30+ years of following Stoke no-one has come close to Peter Fox who was worthy of an England call up imho.
Sorenson has performed much better than I'd expected but he needs to be at the club for quite a while longer before he can be considered the best we've had.
Crossely was good as well but again wasn't at the club long enough.

1. Sorensen 2. Crossley 3. Fox
Sorrers is rapidly challenging Crossley to not just the crown of best keeper in twenty years but to Pulis' best signing for the club

Obviously Banks was THE greatest and always will be. Shilton obviously close but from what i've heard from elder stokies and watching old games he seems very over-rated at Stoke. Crossley one of the best i've seen at Stoke and kept us in the champ almost single-handedly.. Sorrenson though is brilliant, and probably better than crossley.

Definitely the best I've seen (in the post-Muggleton era), with Crossley a close second. I always particularly liked Birkir Kristinsson as well.
Jani Viander anyone?
