if the reports i heard this morning are true and tom soares is indeed off on loan to charlton then i am more than dissapointed he was a cracking player for palace last season and had a tremendous debut game for us (very creative)something we are lacking i dont think pulis has given him enough opportunity to prove him self . and lets face it he has more ability the cresswell who has had more than his fair share of starting chances so far this season and has done nothing to enhance his claim to being premiership quality. if we were 20 minutes off finishing a goal less draw game i would rarther have soares as an option on my bench than cresswell wouldn,t you

i guess if he isn't near the first 11 a few regualar games will be a good thing, as long as there is an option to call him back if needed. maybe he will play center for charlton - would of liked him given a game or 2 there for us

Wrong imo. Cresswell is a great player have in the squad. Played very well against liverpool. Soares not experienced enough imo at minute, had one ok game against spurs!!!!. Not saying wont be good in future, but just what he needs now is games ata a decent level in the championship.

If you're putting Soares' lack of opportunities down to inexperience, then can we presume that if we spend £6M or so on Joe Ledley then he can expect a place on the bench at best?

Surely 130 games in the top 2 divisions in England, including 22 in the Prem with Palace as a teenager, means we can't really play the experience card with Soares, despite his relative youth?

Let's be serious here.
Tonge and Soares were both C List signings because we missed out on our A & B list. They were never going to be long term signings.
Now Tone is signing his preferred players, we will have to ship some out.

Soares, imho, has been given plenty of pitch time for very little return
even in the Spurs game he played really badly at times
to be fair he is young & si best suited to a 433 rather than as a winger

soares is still a young lad and can still improve. he has certainly got talent, i say persist with him for another couple of years

It seems he's way down now behind quite a few players so maybe this is the best move in the short term. But when you look at Pugh, Whelan and Shawcross it does show you can be behind 2 or 3 players for your position in the 1st team but still fight your way back into Pulis' plans if you want. Either he's not shown enough fight? or Pulis thinks this is the best thing to do at the moment? Still we'll have a recall option if needed.
It is slightly disappointing but after the Tottenham game he didn't really cut it did he?

I am personally quite disappointed about Soares to be honest. I was really pleased with that signing, he looked like one for the future. Do you think this will be it for him? Or is he being sent on loan simply because he is not ready for a regular starting spot yet?

Great potential in my opinion...

All depends on wether a joe ledley has more natural skill/confidence dont it!!!!!

Good luck to the lad, hope he gets the matches he needs.
