Been to Mansfield today to catch up with ex Stokie Neil MacKenzie but in the process caught up with a bit of gossip of other ex stokies.
Macca is back in first team at mansfield and played the full 90 minutes. Not his best game by far but has only just returned from injury
Andy Cooke is back in england and is currently training with Stoke for a month until he returns to Korea.
Thorney is doing well and enjoying scoring the goals
Ben Petty - playing for Moore Green? (no idea) and also coaching the U8's at Villa.
interesting little snippet which i don't think is true in the slightest bit true but worth a mention. That clive clarke is listed for loan?
Lots of rumours circulating about Chris Greenacre returning to Mansfield - either on loan or at end of season but Keith Curle is strongly denying it saying he couldn't afford his wages

Becks, Moor Green are a local side, their most famous export was Ian Taylor when John Rudge signed him for Port Vale before selling him on to Sheffield Wednesday for £1 million a decade or so ago. Lee Collins was also there last season I believe but has now moved on. I'm actually typing up an article right now in another window for the next Oatcake about former players, so the snippit about Neil MacKenzie will come in very useful  cheers! |

Neil Mackenzie was and probably still is a complete twat. He's lucky he didn't get a smack in the nose when I met him.

Agree MacKenzie is a moron. Deserved the smack he got Paddock. Roy McFarland sacked him don't forget.
The Mansfield story was news 6 months ago and fell flat on its face.
The Clive Clarke story utter nonsense btw.

anybody know what Mark Bailey is upto now ?
I was aat school with him (clayton High)
odd only one to get a YTS contact at stoke, but by no means the best footballer at the school.

A bit about Mark Bailey will be in Saturday's Oatcake too, currently playing in the Third Division with Lincoln City after leaving Rochdale and spending a bit of time locally with Northwich Victoria. Never made it in the Stoke first team.  |
