Things are still exactly the same, we still have the same hope of signing him, absolutely nil, but it is nice to dream

www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/news/article1519153.eceTHE family of war crimes suspect Radovan Karadzic could make £½million from helping DEFEND him in court, it emerged yesterday. The ex-Bosnian Serb leader has arranged for daughter Sonja to join the legal team representing him in his trial at The Hague, sources said. Businesswoman Sonja instructed Karadzic’s solicitors during his years on the run — and is described as “the backbone and brains of the family”. Joining the tribunal’s legal aid gravy train could net her £400 a day from public funds plus a £1,000-a-month retainer. If her father’s trial on 11 charges went on for four years she could rake in as much as £500,000. Former Yugoslavian president Slobodan Milosevic’s war crimes trial had dragged on that long when he died of a heart attack in his cell in 2006. And Serbian war criminal Zoran Zigic was reportedly able to buy two houses with money he made from splitting legal fees with his team.

if we were the only club interested we still wouldn't get him. we'd have to be prepared cough up 50k a week after shelling out 8million for his transfer.

wonder why he's been linked with so many clubs, but hasn't gone to any of them? are they put off by his demands i wonder... or after examining him closer, they come to see that he's not the sort of player that they're after?

Come on guys, this was a non starter anyhow, Even Pulis stubbornly denied it.

Well Pulis would deny it. It's been stated that we approached the club to get him on loan, so something may still happen there.

hiyadad, it would be weird if none of the potential purchasers of Zigic decided he was the sort of player they were interested in. The strong point in his favour is that he has succeeded and scored a shed load of goals at EVERY club he has gone to and that he is good with both feet AND head. If Valencia want to get him off their books for financial reasons (and it appears that they do) I'd have thought that any delay was down to him angling for the best club and best deal he can get. I'm sure he will go somewhere before the end of the window - unless, of course, he has Fulop's agent! ;D

Well latest is that Valencia have opened talks with David Villa. Surely to fund this they will have to sell and this may well pave the way open for Zigic to us! (if only!) It could be a very interesting weekend with Valencia visiting Newcastle on Saturday. Maybe there is some truth that he will visit the Potteries for talks.
Come on Pulis. If we get him, Hoyte and Walters then surely we have chance of survival!

www.lasprovincias.es/valencia/20080807/deportes/valencia/llega-oferta-inglaterra-zigic-20080807.htmlThe Valencia local paper today reports a bid for Zigic from...an English club. Dodgy babelfish translation Valencia An offer arrives from England for Zigic
At time of negotiations to improve contracts, Emery continues with an ample group. It must loosen ballast, but the objective, besides it, is to obtain something of money. By Hugo Viana and Ludovic it has it to Butelle complicated - it is tried to give the freedom letter to them, but not by Nicola Zigic. One is a goleador, always the most looked for. It has credited and it, as much the past season the parties that disputed the past like Saturday against the Borussia Mönchengladbach. This has arrived at eyes of English clubs and one of them has made firmly an offer for the Serb. Valencia has received already it is studying and it, as it informed the PROVINCES yesterday Point Radio (92,0 FM). The forward cost 18 million Euros. He sees almost nonviable to remove a similar number, but he would accede if he surpassed the ten million Euros. The soccer player does not wish to leave Valencia. The forward is convinced that he can convince with goals to Unai Emery, although in front of him has players like David Villa, Fernando Morientes and even Miguel Angel Angulo. The technician is contented with his yield but he would not put you beat to the march of the player if therefore he decides the sport direction of the organization. That yes, an exit could bring about an arrival. She would be the one of Louis Saha, French forward of Manchester United. In the Valencia it likes much this young attacker. It does not count for Alex Ferguson - yes it does with Wayne Rooney and Carlos Tévez-, reason why it would accede without no problem to transfer it. The English set has appraised to the international Gaul in ten million Euros. One is an amount not excessively high to be a goleador, but the box of the Valencia has spiderwebs and it is not at readiness to make too many wastes. But it is able to collect something by Zigic, the possibilities that Saha plays in Mestalla increase considerably. Saha (Paris, 8 of August of 1978) has credited its goleadora facet in the British competition, although in the Manchester never it has counted with the continuity necessary to obtain it. The Gaul would be united in the list of tempting forwards to Diego I militate, always in the firing chamber.

That's interesting FM- it could well be us (it could obviously be 19 other clubs as well).
Yes, David Villa is already at Valencia so don't really understand that.
Zigic could be the signing that informs the world that City are back!!
