david rowson andy cooke was pretty shite too .. he wasnt a goal scorer, he was a kind of Mama player, he held the ball up brilliantly. David oldfeild is one that sticks in my mind also, bloody awful! Soulymane Oulare (?) was perhaps the worst signing ever, not just for his skills though.

All good contenders. But Oulare's arse is legendary for getting us to the playoffs so he's out.
Surely head and shoulders above the rest is, at the time, our record signing Bangoura who was not only useless but didn't even bother to turn up half the time.

Gordon Marshall?
How he was a professional footballer I will never know!

I must have missed that 5 minutes Stokie! ;D
I remember a meet the players with Russell, Dooberry and Wilkinson shortly after he arrived, and someone hopefully asked what he was like in training. They just smirked at each other and said useless.
Apparently he didn't like training or any kind of effort. He just wanted to get paid and play the big man back home.
By the way, I should have said Oulare's arse got us to the play off final, not the play offs.

"Disco" Bryan Small. Probably not the worst, but his name deserves a mention.

No one gave less, cared less than Paul Stewart. Had the talent but couldn't give a toss by the time he got to Stoke.

David Brammer*
Perhaps not the worst player ever but I couldn't stand the useless tvvat. His last 18 months saw some of the worst array of passing in the history of football.

Tweed, Handyside and McMahon, brings back memories nightmares.
Add to that list Ben Petty, Phil Robinson, Paul Stewart, Paul Williams, O'Neil Donaldson, Marco Gabbiadini, Bryan Small etc etc!!

Tweed is a good shout, worlds tallest man who could be beaten in the air by either snow white or any of her dwarfs.
I'll raise you a Jason Kavanagh.
Lightbourne wouldn't be mentioned if we didn' spunk away 500k on him plus he gave us that glimmer of hope (possibly against Pompey at home) the season we got relegated with his annual goal.
Oldfield was a player that seemed to notch up a fair few apperances despite having no talent whatsoever.

Ben Petty is an epic shout. He was wank.
Fucking hell, we've had some dross down the years, and we dare to complain about Dave Kitson, or Amdy Faye.
Compared to some of that shit, these lads are like Pelé

if you consider that some players didnt get as much chance as others, richard cresswell is pretty poor, had so many oppertunities to impress us, yet he never really has.

Steve Woods - without any doubt is the worst player I have ever seen in a Stoke shirt in 28 years. He is still getting a game for Torquay. To this day I still can't believe how bad he was at Stoke.
