I don't like it, I don't like it in opposition players who go looking for fouls, and I don't like it when our own players do it .
was it a penalty , well there was contact, did he look for it, yep, and he he admitted it in the MOTD interview , and his "Hurdle" of the goalkeeper , well he left his leg hanging there looking for contact a little too long in my opinion .
We'd have gone ape shit if a player had done that against us, calling him a diving cheat .

if players do it against us then why can't we do it against them?

Not sure I agree Dave, I think sometimes we are a bit too "nice" about these things and I often think we should be a little bit more "professional" as pretty much every other team are (look at Hull for example.) On more than one occassion yesterday they should have had players booked but because we didn't roll around the ref left it alone.

Simple really
Dont go down, dont get the penalty, lose 1-0
Twice this season Rory could have gone down and got penalties, but being the honest pro he is, we ended up with nowt
Cant condone cheating, but everyone else does it so whats good for the goose . . . .
RVD - see your point of course, so I probably am a steaming hypocrite - but Ronaldos just a twat full stop

on the other hand, ricardo got a boot to the face (or chest/neck) yesterday and stayed on his feet... any other premiership "star" would have hit the deck like a sack-o-spuds and made a right meal of it... trying to get the other player booked/sent off... Ricci just shruged it off...

Fair enough turd, but it makes people on here who cry about Ronaldo cheating look like steaming hypocrites. the difference is ronaldo dives when he hasn't been touched and fuller went down when he was.its clever like alan shearer said on MOTD

What's the difference? It's still cheating isn't it?

Fair enough turd, but it makes people on here who cry about Ronaldo cheating look like steaming hypocrites. I'm shocked that anyone could ever compare what Ric did yesterday with Ronaldo's theatrics. It was a penalty and he did get caught, we should also remember that Ric was in full flow at the time he was clipped.

Jamo, I agree. I didn't think it was a penalty at the time, but having seen the replay, think it probably just about was.
However, Fuller did admit in his interview that he made sure he went down as soon as there was contact, and it is hugely hypocritical for folk on here to look for ways of justifying Fuller diving (if they can do it why can't we etc.) while abusing Ronaldo for diving.

What's the difference? It's still cheating isn't it? no. keeper hit fullers leg, fuller went down, penalty. nobody touches ronaldo and he goes down like he's bin hit on the head by a hard dog shit.

So it's not cheating to go make sure you go down the second you feel any contact?

Surely there is a difference though between making sure the ref knows and diving when there is absolutely zero contact? We are a very honest team (sometimes too honest) so I don't think we should get too concerned over getting a decision we we deserved.

you could put it like that or you could put it like , the keeper came running out, hit fullers leg and he went down.the keeper would have put off fullers run so it was a foul.

If that had been King through on goal yesterday and not Fuller, and he'd made those comments in the interview, would there have been this reaction on here?

But the fact is, it was a penalty so perhaps we shouldn't get too carried away with it. I'm sure swanland would have been fuming if Hull had not been awarded a pen if the same had happened in our box.

Jamo , I'm not fuming , there was clearly contact , so there can be no arguments it was a penalty, but on that and at least one other occasion fuller looked for the foul . Something I'm just not keen on at all

I can accept Fuller "buying" a pen because that happens in football and I would not want our players to be any different as it would put the club at a severe disadvantage. But I think it grossly unfair that Myhill who was the "victim" gets booked for his troubles................not fair!

I thought it was a penalty. Fuller was on a run and the keeper made contact with his leg. What more constitutes a penalty? I wonder what the reaction would have been if the ref had not given it. I'm pretty sure the Hull fans would have been laughing their balls off and us Stokies would have been fuming for weeks.

Keeper missed ball but made contact with Fuller. Fuller fell and penalty was awarded. Nothing wrong with that, unless you're a Hull supporter.

For me Ric doesn't normally look for fouls in the way some do (ala Ronaldo / Gerrard) but he certainly made the most of that yesterday. Was it a penalty? Well ive seen the replay about 6 times now and to be honest I don't think its a penalty. Ric knew he was going to ground before he even knocked the ball past the keeper. Very clever and is a trick alot of forwards use where they delibrately leave the trailing leg in looking for minimal contact so as to give the ref an excuse to award the pen. If it had been given against us id have been absolutely fuming but hey ho other teams do it week in week out and we certainly need all the decisions we can get this year so good luck to Ricci for the theatrics. 8 out of 10

Ric did what 99% of players would do in that position. He got to the ball first and as soon as he felt a bit of contact he went down

I'd like to know what else he could have done. Try to jump over the keeper's arm and land on his arse and lose a good goalscoring opportunity or simply stop and say..."I can't be bothered"?
